Does anyone know of any Brownie packs (is that the right word?) in Accrington?

Re: Brownies
pretty sure theres onein that old church thing on the street next to/next to but one sultan street where i used to go nursery.

Re: Brownies
i think they still run a group at st mary magdalens (school on Devonshire st) on wednesdays.

Re: Brownies
Thanks both of you. That gives me a couple of things to look at. The one near Sultan Street. Is that Cambridge Street Methodists? I know someone whose children go to St Mary Magdalene's school so maybe they will know if there's still one there.

Re: Brownies
There is also one at St Pauls Church, Plantation St. on Wednesday's but next week is the last one before a 2 month break. I presume it's the same for all brownie packs so you may have to wait until after the hols to enrol, if there are places available.

Re: Brownies
Thanks Bagpuss. It's a friend of mine who is looking for Brownies for her daughter. Mine are too old.

Re: Brownies
There is definately a brownie group at St Mary Magdelens school on Wednesday's that is run by the church. Time is 6.30 - 8pm. I do know that the brownies do not run during the school holidays.

Re: Brownies
As far as I know the brownies do not use woggles at all.
Thats just the Scout's (Beavers/Cubs/Scouts). She should be able to go for several weeks to see if she likes it before she needs to get a uniform & the group will advise you where you can purchase one (they may even have some spare bits from past members). Its the Girl Guides that will go on hikes if at all, otherwise it is the Scouts that go on longer hikes & camps. If she likes outdoor activities more, when she has got too old for Brownies, she would likely be welcome into a Scout group. Thats not to say that Guides don't do them, just that I know that Scouts have more chance as the leaders are usually male & like getting outside. (I can feel a foot lodging further down my throat). Please remember that when your daughter joins the Brownies, that it is run by unpaid volunteers and they would appreciate your help occasionally. |
Re: Brownies
