One of our customers is Maid Clean

Not seen any of the work but know the people who run it.

They don't say on the website that they cover Accrington but you could ring Martin and ask him :)

Thanks Dave - will email them
'discounted rates for pensioners' sounds good:D

Got one quote back so far £17.50 an hour - it hasn't deterred me

Re: Domestic cleaning services

Send the bill to Hyndburn Homes afterwards.

I assume your house was clean before they came so it should be when they leave.

I have only had that one quote so far - but there is plenty of time yet.
It looks as though I might not be ready to employ them til easter.

I did try to bribe one of my grandsons with the prospect of some beer money, but he chickened out.

I hope you get it sorted

Re: Domestic cleaning services

One of our friends had a Hyndburn Homes house and they left it a bit tatty after a job.
I mean, a lot tatty.
He got £250 for a clean up and paint.
I just rang him and he says the chap who authorised it was a Matlese guy who he thinks was called Gallilo or similar.

With a private job I wouldn't pay up until it was sorted to my satifaction but I suppose with Council owned it's different.

On Saturday morning I was at a low ebb, sitting amongst the plaster dust.
I realised that I was 'negative thinking'.
I have learned of ways to dispel that when reading about shamans.
So I decided to give it a go - nothing to lose.

I smouldered some white sage leaves (practice known as sage smudging)

...and played some solfeggio frequency music

I felt revitalised and spent 8 hours cleaning the lounge:D

Today I ache but feel happy

Having proved to myself that there is more to this shamanism than just ritual and mythology, I will be acquiring some 'accoutremonts'
.......a native american rattle and a dreamcatcher :D

Now Margaret, write a bill out for your labour and send it to Hyndburn and see if they will give you a few bob.
If you are cheeky you can make it time and a half as it was important to your health to get it done quickly.
From the phrases you use on here I am sure you will be more than capable of putting together a forceful letter to go with it.

I have successfully sued in Small Claims Court a few times, but nowadays I prefer a hassle free life.

I don't want to get into the bad books at Hyndburn Homes because I would like a transfer to a bungalow in a few years time.

I might put out feelers for reimbursement for the towel radiator and filter shower head I have bought, and maybe even the floor tiling I have said I would buy.....will think about it.

Thanks for the encouragement ....nice to know that some people have 'won a do' with them.
