Shall we ban politics for a day?

Should we make tomorrow a politics free day on Accyweb?
Lets have a vote on it and if yes wins I will delete any political posts made on Thursday 28th April 2010.

Fed up of hearing about whom. is better than who, they are all the same. Say one thing and do another.

There'll be more votes on this than the whole election :p lol

You might upset our new independent member, tomorrow could be the day he comes on & makes his first intelligible political statement, only to have you delete it.

:)

As the poll does not close till 2 days later I can't see the point in voting.:confused:

I would like the ban to be more than one day,
.....maybe from now until after the election

Some amusing incidents do happen though. GB certanly enhanced his standing today - he got to meet a real person and then proceeded to call her a bigot - is that what he thinks of all of us that disagree with some of his actions?

Less - you ever been to Pakistan, India orTurkey? Seen what they are trying to escape from?
English tends to be the second language for them, so they try to get to England - the same applies to all the other nationalities - Perhaps the BBC World Service should be closed down - teach them Russian or Chinese instead.

Voted no.. merely because you cannot do it. This is a site based on free speech 24/7, and to decide on a whim to delete posts on certain subjects for a day is megalomania.

Eew let's see now, I will raise a poll not to talk about football on Saturday !
That'll go down well.

With all due respect (don't want to upset a moderator) instead of spending time deleting posts why don't you use the time to fix glitchs in the system ....the first could be the "View First Unread" glitch which most times takes me to the last post in a thread requiring a scroll back (on occasion the previous or second page back) to find the last post I recognize .
Thx.

and yes I do know the difference between 'last page ' and 'View First Unread' buttons

After not being on AW for a few days, due to being a bit rough, I'm glad this was the first threead that came up.

I'd have been spitting feathers, if I'd have wrote a whole load of political posts, only to have them deleted because it was no 'politics day', even though the date was wrong.

I voted no.

If there's something I want to say, I want to be able to say it.

Those who aren't interested don't need to read it.

Just avoid it.

Simple.

...thats not a novelty is it

Who wins is already decided
Whichever party is declared winner, there is one large collection of losers - us

I think it would be good if we were able to specify what new posts we saw when we hit ther "new posts" button.

SO that I.E. not being an AS supporter - I did not have to see any posts in the AS forum kind of thing. And then for political posts to be in a forum for it so we could turn that off & not need to see it. :D

To get round that just click general chat, q&A etc at side then bypasses stanley posts or for me i click stanley section bypasses all poliical bull rubbish:D :p

mattylad 29-04-2010 18:49

Re: Shall we ban politics for a day?

I can do that but then I have to do that on all forums rather than use the new posts butto.
Some websites I have used in the past enabled you to specify forums that did not appear in your search, I think Burnleyweb once did that.

Getting back on thread, so is this no pollyticks day planned for july 17th? (should be far enough away from all the crap going on now :D)
