The chap is either part owner or employee of the Birds of Prey Centre between Settle and Ingleton. If you click on thelink there are a some photos of the same chap and also loads of information. Me and my missus have been quite few times and always enjoy the demos and a decent plate of scran in the excellent cafe there. They allow some birds to fly to your arm after being released by the owner of the centre. He gives you a glove first. Yorkshire Dales Falconry Centre - Hawk Experience - Falconry, Yorkshire |

I went to Barrow many times when I was driving tankers and I seem to recall a sign somewhere along the way but it's must be over 25 years ago. I retired 11 years ago and worked the north east for ten before that and Scotland for a few years before that. Notice I never got the southern contract, I had to keep the MD in G&T to avoid it. |

Re: lost bird
The other day ... over the moors where I work ... a batch of noisy seagulls flew over with another bird that didn't fly the same way.
Read later in the Observer that the tip was using Peregrine Falcons to scare the Seagulls off .. must have been this. Had sorta' mentioned this on another forum .. have been asked why should they wish to frighten off the Seagulls as they would eat lots of the garbage ... presume because they make a mess of some sort or maybe noise nuisance ? Kestrel ... sure you can answer this for me.. :) |
