Hardwood offcuts

Anyone know where I can get some free hardwood offcuts - like a joiners workshop or similar. I know its worth going round asking at these places but thought it would be worth asking here just in case anyone knows off hand.

Word of warning, Hardwood can burn very hot and actually damage some stoves, not all but some.

You also run the risk of glue and other materials get burnt and causing air pollution in your front room.

It's highly unlikely unless you have a semi-cast stove and even then it's pretty difficult to get it that hot.

Pure iron burners will take anything, in fact you won't want to get them anywhere near that temperature to start with because the house will be unbearable.
