Tyres

Can anyone recommend where to go to get some new car tyres locally? Don't want to be spending loads but at the same time don't want cheap ones. What i really want is cheap but safe ones.

Blackcircles.co.uk camskill.com

For local fitters I use baxenden tyres who often price match the two sites above

Just got 2 new tyres from (think they're called) S&D Tyres, Union Road, Ossy. Husband and wife run it and they were a bit cheaper than T. Blanks.

Re: Tyres

depends on what make/model of tyres BG, event are like Blackcircles and camskill, you just need to check all three for the make model size/speed rating etc that you need.

Whilst I dont normally recommend them you can also check against National and KF as their special offers sometimes beat these guys as well, e.g. when I wanted some Conti Winter tyres for mine the cheapest I could get online was 90 quid a corner, KF were 100 a corner but with 25% off if you bought 4 so it worked out cheaper there.

Its a bit like car insurance/ etc you absolutely MUST shop around.

Can't really say about local as I live over here in Germany, but I find that the on-line way is pretty good & the way I do mine. You can compare all across the Country to get the best deal & have them delivered to your local workshop (after speaking to them so they know).

Just picked up 4 Goodyear Marathon Cargo 195/60/R16 99H (a reasonable mid price tyre for a Ford Galaxy) for €308,00 (GBP 275 ish = GBP 68,75 per tyre) no transport costs as I ordered 4 & about €30,00 (GBP 27 ish) to have them balanced & fitted, to my view not a bad price, all up €338,00 = GBP 302 ish. You could do it cheaper or more expensively dependent on your tyre choice.
