I don't really think that Jen was alluding to this type of lie.....because she mentioned someone in authority........a lie of this nature could have far reaching consequences.

Well I've always found that when your talking to people in authority, only tell them what they want to know, if they don't ask don't tell;)

Yes, that is a very good maxim.....and it is one that I was told to use when the GNC were coming round the hopsital to see the wards and quiz the staff(which they did periodically in days gone by). Only answer the question asked...never volunteer information....if they didn't ask then they don't want to know.
