Windows7 Solitaire

I play Windows Solitaire regularly, and have noticed that in Windows7 there is an annoying bug whereby the same games keep cropping up (and I dont use that new 'play again' feature).

It happens so often that I can recognise the game by the initial card layout.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Funny you should say that, I was playing it the other day and thought it was me, who pressed the replay button, obviously it wasn't

Glad to know it wasn't Deja-vous :D

It does spoil the pleasure of playing.

Re: Windows7 Solitaire

I have found a website where you can download the XP version of Solitaire
Play Windows XP Solitaire in Windows 7

I found many question and answer sites where people were complaining about the Windows 7 version.
Some say you can copy two things from the XP disc and move them using a memory stick, but since I dont have access to an XP install disc, I have downloaded this (free) version.

It does not look exactly like the XP version I remember but seems to play the same way.

Only one drawback is that it resets your homepage to some obscure site
Arccosine
but that I easily corrected.

If you are cautious about trying this download you can wait a couple of days until I report back on whether it is OK.

I'll wait until you've sorted the teething problems Margaret:D

i played it for an hour last night and didn't get that 'deja vous effect'

It has a small 'footprint' on the desktop - a 'no frills' version that seems fine.

The download hasn't thrown up any technical bugs so far.

I have now done system restore and got rid.
That 'Arccosine' page was imposing itself uninvited as a backdrop to size reduced google search pages.

I dont know how or why but it was most annoying

Thanks for the info Margaret, looks like we'll have to put up with the new annoying version

I may be wrong but I don't find much skill required for solitaire, more luck.I think that free cell requires more thinking, maybe not skill.

I like free cell too - I once had a run of 31 consecutive wins.

That's professional performance. I am working an average of 73% on free cell, and on Hearts 49%,but a miserable 12% on Solitaire 62 out of 403 no good.
