LS Lowry Paintings.

Does anyone know anything about LS Lowry paintings/prints/copies etc and prices. Any information will be appreciated.

I have one which I think is a copy, it is signed and dated (1942) don't know if they are worth anything?
Cheers.

Even if it may have no monetary value, it's still worth having to look at, it's 29 by 21 inches. I don't know what it's called yet? I am making enquiries - someone from the Lowry museum asked me for a photo and they will give me a title for it.

Do you know if it is a limited edition print, if so it will be worth more.

I don't know I found it in a skip 2 years ago. I'm trying to find out what it is. Apparently Lowry did paint on boards, as this is on a board, but also they used to put prints on boards as well.

It's got stains on it so it would need some restoration.

Lowery always signed his work, usually in the bottom right hand corner, and if its an original usually had something on the back too

I like it -less flat than most of his that I've seen and more realistic.

Hope it turns out to be worth a bob or two.

The size looks about right for Lowery

It will take a lot of effort to find out what it is, if it's a print, worth anything or what. Let alone find what official name he gave it as he did over 1,000 paintings and 8,000 drawings.

If it's authentic it would be worth half a million. If it's a print could be worth up to a few grand or £20!!!? It's getting an honest valuation. ;)

Take it to an antiques dealer, and if they offer you £200 you know its genuine:rolleyes:

I've just sent e-mail to Christie's in London - reply came back; they have sent photo I took to an expert and it could take 6 weeks for a reply to come back on his assessment.
