What do you think the longest running shop is in Accrington ?
i think it would be Henry Gregson cycles. |

Remember it being Len Rowbottoms next door but one,got my first bike there in 1958.My dad paid for it at 10shillings a week!! it was a Dawes

What about Mardens Leather shop in Waener street and Allens Optician shop in Dutton St
My wife got her first specs there in 1952 |

There aint a shop that would come anywhere near a pub, on that basis would think Marsdens leather shop n Porters both on Warner st certainly longer than Henry Gregsons imho.

What about some of the stalls in Accy Market, some of them have had the same name for yonks.
But the oldest surviving business is in Warner St, & is definitely Porters Decorators, must be well over 100 years in the same place, same name. |
