Look at page 12 of this leaflet...

You then come to Ogdens Jewellers
Originally the Cash
Clothing Company and,
until 1962,
Lloyds Bank.

That seems incorrect to me - was jewelers in 1959

PS - It might have been BOTH - i don't recall the jewelry shop being BIG like it is now - maybe expanded when bank closed.

Yep it's now LLoyds TSB. I had a TSB account almost from when I was born, still remember the blue pass book.

Think you mean Ogdens Margaret, Egan's was a dress shop on Abbey street - my mum's favourite shop and I got my first "grown up" clothes there.

PS Apology accepted but really not necessary...

Correct built on the site of the Kings Hall Cinema, Whalley Rd, (aka Ranch, Flea Pit, Bug Hut), its no where near the corner with the Commercial.
I've no recollection of the building Cash Clothing ever being a bank, at one time in the late 1950's Wood's Tobacconists used part of it, I have a photo somewhere with their sign on it.

Well Margaret P says she was working next door at Curry's in 1962. And must be after 1959 as there's a Mini in the picture.
