Have a guess

Just been reading on another website about the Butlers Arms in Pleasington, which has just been renovated, would anybody like to have a guess at what they are charging for a large glass of red wine and a pint of beer:rolleyes:

A brief google provides wine prices
Fresh home cooked food & real ale - Pub - The Butlers Arms - The Wine List

I don't care to guess about beer prices; are you thinking of having a trip out?

Thats bloody expensive fruit juice, you can get a 2 litre bottle of Robinsons concentrate at Asda for the price of one of their glasses of fruit juice.

Their desserts look rather nice though - and they're not that expensive.

A few weeks ago I went to the Crofters at Garstang to a haulage meeting.
I ordered two pints of lager for me and a friend and was charged £7.80.
£3.80 a pint is a bit much that's why I only had three.
It's £2.50 a pint in Read Con.

Re: Have a guess

Well I reckon you'd be charged about the same as two good nights out on the lash used to cost in the 60's, (including bus fare home and a chip shop supper)!

Re: Have a guess

Well the cost of a pint of, I think it was called Duechers, was £3-50p and a glass of red wine £7-50p that's £11 for the two, I think if I'd have ordered the drinks and asked for £11 I'd have walked out and left them on the bar, that daylight robbery, well the wine is:mad:

Ya Eric that little window at the front filled with tanners and the crash when three "7" appeared on the middle line, and a pint was 9d, I can remember going into my local and the landlord saying the ale had gone up 1d, and I said we're soon not going to be able to get 10 pints to the pound:eek:

Is there much aussie wine on sale, cask or bottled, and what do you have to pay in the supermarket?.

entwisi 03-06-2013 10:05

Re: Have a guess

prices depend on the quality of the wine, just like if you go to tesco/asda there is stuff at 3 quid a bottle and stuff at 10x that

same with beers, should a pint of john smiths keg cost the same as a artisan brewery quality cask?

fact of life is that you gets what you pay for...

Lots of it over here ... average price about $14.00 a bottle ... of course, most people with taste drink Canadian wine;):D Oh, but we can't buy it in the supermarket; have to go to the liquor store in this province.

Why should there be a difference, its the same mouldy fruit soaked in watter for a few days, then bottled while its still fermenting. 95% of what your buying is just tap watter anyway.
