Sky box help
 

Can anyone figure this one out? I've been given a sky plus HD box with a remote. I'm not going to subscribe but just using this to receive channels as my tv aerial is goosed. Anyway it's up an running apart from the remote. I put some batteries (think they were new) in it but it doesn't activate the box. There is a red light that comes up on the box when the remote is pressed so it does recognise it.

Take a look here, a few suggestions for you to try.

If I remember right, you don`t get many free channels through a sky box without a card, even a lot of the free to air channels.

Cheers Gpick. I've been on some of those troubleshooters but can't seem to find the same problem on there. There is quite a few channels including 2 HD ones! There is a card in the machine

my mums sky remote was doing same thing the other day, i just gave it a whack and now it works

sometimes you have to code teh remote to the box.Them remotes are handed out with at least 3 different models of sky hd box .If you google about it perhaps typing "pair remote to hd sky box" you may get te anser you need

My Sky remote sometimes glitches, at which point I unplug the box for a minute then replug it, wait a minute then switch it back on using remote or manually. It usually works. Otherwise, there is a instruction in the back of my remote battery cover saying press tv button, hold select and red button down together for two seconds then enter my 4digit personal code.
