Hi Margaret I've just been into Denmans they dont do a PLL lamp enclosed in a dome so as to look like a conventional light bulb. They said manufacturers dont tend to make them anymore. The ones they have are Denmans reference CLDE 13 SW approx £3 each + vat. Which are just as the picture you posted.

Thank you for enquiring.
When these two 'silly fitting' bulbs die I might get the ceiling fitting changed to a normal one, as one member here did with his. There may be adaptors available but ceilings are a bit low and my 6'2" son would need to duck :D

The two you mention above don't sound like LED at all so no point in buying them - I'll just use the ones the previous tenant left behind until they 'expire/die'.

Thanks all for constructive info:D

You won't get adapters because of the control gear in the fitting

More useful info - thanks.

I can't see the point in those 2 an 4 pin fittings - there never was anything wrong with good old fashioned bayonets - even screw fittings are more 'fiddly' than bayonets.

Men who fancy themselves as 'inventors' can't leave well alone:rolleyes:

Women have a more realistic approach to 'innovation' - if it works, don't fix it.

When you throw away a compact fluorescent you throw away the control gear as well. If the control gear is part of the fitting your only replace the lamp. It's the same idea as a fluorescent tube but smaller. You only throw away the tube not the control gear.

I think bayonet fittings are very poor and I prefer edison screw fittings.
