Re: Lancashire Food Festival

It was last year as well. I am not sure if I think it should be free or not because I don't know what the cost is to the Council to hold the event.
HBC are trying to encourage people into the town centre so making it free might help. On the other side the Council is having to make very large savings so should they be spending our money to put on what is basically an indoor market

It's been £1 for ages, biggest complaint has been the admission charge, so they double it

Sounds like they took their cue from the National Lottery.

Re: Lancashire Food Festival

Have to admit that was one of the worst £2's I have ever wasted, sure it's been better than that in the past

Re: Lancashire Food Festival

I was very poor Dave, after leaving you we went into the other half of the tent, there was only about 6 people in there.

What a shame, it's spoilt the event, needless to say the Chocolate Festival at Rammy is heaving

Whatever happened to the Lancashire delicacy of Steak Pudding all in.

For the uninitiated that is, Steak Pudding , Chips, Peas and gravy.

The only things running wild in Accy are the Chavs.
I don't fancy them spit roasted.

Oh for the days when I could dump double pudding, chips and peas on top of at least 8 pints of best bitter (Thwaites, Duttons, or John Smiths) and still walk home without tossing my cookies in the cut.:D

Here's a plan ... 'cause Marg P is so fond of posting pics of delicacies like bread pudding on here; and because she don't cotton with "foreign muck", why not hold next year's festival in her kitchen.:D No cover charge, park your clogs at the door, and don't pet the zebra:theband:

I was thinking more along the lines of Red or White, or even a South African. :D

I didn't realize it was an "ethnic Lancastrian" food festival!

Maybe around kicking out time at some dubious watering holes you'd expect to see some exotic sights, but Zebras? And yes Cashers I know it's not Liverpool, because if it was they'd have been resprayed, re-branded & sold off at a profit (or a case of special brew, a bag of weed & some knock off Adidas/Nikey gear ;)) as pedigree race horses! :D
