Hi, how old a person is Andrew? If he is around 70/80 then I might know who he is.

Re: ANDREW WALECZEK

But .. .dont you think its odd that you know someone with this same, unusual name? Maybe its worth pursuing, could be the father of the man we want, eh?

Re: ANDREW WALECZEK

Hi - I'm brand new to the site and just found yr query - if its the Andy Waleczek I knew he is 48/49 like me, and was in our year at Holy Family and left there in 1971/72

He was a best mate of a guy called Tony Gardiner, used to hang around together all the time, they both lived near Sacred Heart Church somewhere

I don't know what happened to him after he left school but a lot of the ex school guys & gals keep in touch through Friends Reunited - look for Holy Family School Acc and the 1971/72 year - try emailing some of them, they may know

If I hear anything at all I'll post it back to u

Mick McGough, Martin Cavanagh, Norval Dwyer, Michael Routh, Ian Rawcliffe, Robert Dillon, Roman Synczysz, Patrick Cash, Michael O'Conner, Bernard Firth, Steve Pollard, Phillip Salisbury, ? Slinger, ? Cronshaw, Richard Ormerod. Any of these names ring a bell Mick? And in the year below; Martin West, Simon Preugschat, Christopher Staves. My memory is not as good as it used to be, sorry.

I thought you did pretty good there A-B!

mickmc 23-11-2004 16:33

Re: ANDREW WALECZEK

like music to my ears, shame about Ernie Firth though, great mate, was it not John Pollard ?, me & Mick O'Connor goes way back, don't remember Michael Routh, Richard Ormerod, and only have a hazy memory of Roman
None of the names from the year below rings any bells

Acrylic-bob 23-11-2004 17:02

Re: ANDREW WALECZEK

You are possibly right with John Pollard, as I said the memory is not what it was. The last time I saw Mick O'Conner waas in The Pickwick in Accrington around 1979/80 and he was talking about some sort of class reunion. I don't know if he ever managed to organise it. You must remember Roman he had a younger sister called Christine and they lived on Blackburn Road near the bottom of Wheat Street. Richard Ormerod lived on the next block along going towards Church. Yes it was a great pity about Bernard Firth, what a waste.

Re: ANDREW WALECZEK

Re: ANDREW WALECZEK

Thanks Mick, I had a quick sprint through the pics and I am sorry to say not one of them rings a bell apart from Mick O'Conner. I told you my memory was going west.

theres a few faces there that i remember, but sadly not the names, thanks for that mick.

Re: ANDREW WALECZEK

Just look at Ian Donohoe's website. Now look at how much he charges. Now look at this message board and how active and easy it is to negotiate.

Now look at Hyndburnlife. Now think about how much HBC paid for that.

Now think how much HBC could have saved if they'd got Roy and Ian to work together!

(Sorry, I know it's a thread wander of majestic proportions but I was just wandering around Ian Donohoe's pages and the thought struck me. He's made a very nmice job of the St. Christopher's site.)

Re: ANDREW WALECZEK

Mr Mullderrick, was our form teacher, he was a very fit man, used to run a lot, before it became jogging. I remember, Bob Almond ( metalwork ) Mr Bleasdale, Miss McGregor, ( sexy ) Miss Doran ( music ) Mr Nobblet ( science ) Katie Boyle ( PE ) Miss Hargraeves ( RI ) . Mr Mullderrick's nick name, Bowd Buddha. A good aime with a board duster and picking and flicking crows, dirty ******. Terry Neville, grown old very gracefully, but he was a good looking man.

I remember Miss Gibson, she was nice. What was the English teacher called who had a metal plate in his head? Anybody know what happened to Stancliffe? There were some jolly unsavoury rumours circulating about him.

I remember Janette King and I also went to Paddock, I don't recall her being there though, and we are the same age. Maybe she went after leaving H F to go into the lower 6th form. There were a few came to Paddock fron H F inc Angela Dugdale.

Also Dave Parr, Christopher Egan, Dave Kay, Paula Rae, Janice Garrity & Helen Towler, you may also remember these going to Holy Family, they will all be aged 48 - 49 now.

Re: ANDREW WALECZEK

Didn't the Dugdale family live on Blackburn Road near the Sacred Heart, What happened to them all? It seemed at one time that they very nearly filled the church all by themselves on a Sunday.

jelly baby 16-12-2004 09:44

Re: ANDREW WALECZEK

Yes, they did.

I don't know where they all are now but I think Anne still lives locally, Angela is a PE teacher and lives somewhere near Ormskirk, Gerard lives locally, Paul is/was a plumber and lived in Ossy, his mum-in-law used to have Stanhill Post Office, Last I heard of Kevin he lived Haslingden way, he lost an arm in an accident, the eldest son John?? is a priest, don't know about Catherine or Maureen, Mr Dugdale died a few years back, and last time I spoke to Angela, Mrs Dugdale was well and living in Blackburn.

Hello, I went to Holy Family with Andy. When we left we went to work at a slipper factory in Ossy and worked there for about 5 years. I left the factory to become a gardener with the local authority. Sorry I havent seen or herd from him since.

What about, Val Padden, Pip Slinger. Dave Kay, Paul Webber, Mick Welch. Brendan Gee, Terry O'Rouke, Icky Greenwood, Brian Balmer. Eugine Cash and Uncle Tom Cobbly and all.
I only ever see Dave Kay regularly from the good old school days.

Regards to you all
