Re: moorend county primary school?
I did.
From January 7th 1969, my forth birthday, until July '76. Teachers in order- Mrs. Cooke, Mrs. Owen, Mrs Elvin, Mr. Batty, Mrs. Chapman, Mr. Ryan, my saviour, for the last two years. |
Re: moorend county primary school?
Panther it looks like I am seven years older than you, so if we were there at the same time I may have been your wet playtime moniter, as I had to look after the reception class when it was too wet to play out at break time.
Was Richard Garnett in your class? |

Re: moorend county primary school?
Oh, and Mr. Green was the Headmaster, and Mrs. Proctor was the school secretary.
I loved my time at Moor End. I think it gave me a full and rounded education. Looking back it was quite modern and progressive. Mr. Green played classical music before assembly, which he wrote the title and composer on the blackboard, and in the bottom corridor near his office there were prints by the artists Bruegel, Miro and Matisse. My last two years at the school I had a wonderful teacher called Chris Ryan. He encouraged me to be myself, let me off games to do more art, and help me write and produce one play a term. My brother who is two years younge,r was lucky enough to be taught by.......Peter Britcliffe, which happily coincided with me leaving to go to QEGS.:D |

Stop thrashing this thread!:D
This is about more innocent, halcyon days. Grass fights on the field with St. Andrews, May pole dancing, having to wear things from the lost property box that stank of wee. |

Lol, I had forgotten about the caretaker Mr. Tregartha. He was always down in the cellar shovelling coal to keep the furnace going, and like you said having a fag.
