Contact from people who remember me
I´m Anne Chaffer former teacher in Accrington and Ozzie in various schools and would love to hear from anyone who remembers me about what they are up to now-- former pupils and colleagues particuarly-- although I now live in Tenerife, Canary Islands I am still interested in the town in which I grew up and taught in and would love to hear anything about people I knew and what they are doing now.

Re: Contact from people who remember me
Hello Anne......You taught me English at Woodnook Secondary School.....I think it would be about 1960....you also took Art as well if I remember correctly and painted a picture of me.......I'm pleased to hear that you are now retired and living in sunnier climes. Good health and long life to you.

Re: Contact from people who remember me
Fairly sure you are a friend of a friend, but for the life of me, can't remember which one ....
Don't put your age up .. which is annoying, however, your privelege .. uncommon name, so must be the same one. Think might be one of two friends called Kath (lived Windsor Avenue, now in Spain) or Christine (now lives in Rishton). You will know, I think. ;) :D |
Re: Contact from people who remember me
Are you any relation to the Mr. Chaffer who was a baker in Ramsbottom Street?

Re: Contact from people who remember me
Hello Anne. I went to St Andrews in Accrington and then to Rhyddings. I can't remember you ever teaching me but we do have one thing in common as I live in Tenerife too!
Send me a pm...........we might be near neighbours!! |

Thanks Junetta and Margaret for your replies. Margaret, I did indeed teach at Woodnook and it was Art too!It was my first teaching post, Secondary as they called it then-- but later I went into junior school teaching and went all over, PeelPark, Hyndburn Park, Benjamin Hargreaves, Hippings Vale in Ozzie and even went back to art teaching at the Hollins.Junetta, I now live in Callao Salvaje with good views too of La Gomera!!!!Only just joined this site so am still finding my way around, hope to hear from you both again---- and a mysterious Mr D who I think I taught at Benjies, Regards!

Re: Contact from people who remember me
Yes Anne, you were our form teacher....2B...and If I remember rightly we were an unruly mob that tested your patience to the limits.
I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed your lessons......and although I left school with no qualifications (to early to take GCE's at secondary school at that time) I did alright. I trained to be a nurse and loved the job. I retired some 5 years ago, and by that time I had become Senior Sister, had taught student nurses and done some management qualifications...not bad for a numbskull. |
Re: Contact from people who remember me

Some of my happiest teaching memories are of 2B at Woodnook--- I went on for another 36 years so it can´t have put me off that much!!You sound as if you did fine in your life--- still living in Accrington?
