Re: woodnook secondary modern 1953-57
I was friendly with a boy, who lived near me in West End, who was there at that time. His name was Robert Greenwood. I haven't seen him for nearly 50 years.

Would any of you known my mum Mary Wilson, she was born in 1944 so think she was there about those years. she also had brother Jimmy, Billy, Ronnie and Harrold and a sister called June.
any memories greatly appreciated |
Re: woodnook secondary modern 1953-57
I think it strange that a Westend lad should attend Woodnook when Rhyddings was much nearer. However, if you do make contact with Robert Greenwood, I feel sure that he will be the same lad who lived in Percy st (Osw) with whom I was matey when his family lived in Orange St and were somehow friendly with my grandma, with whom I lived in Dowry st. His mum had two Polish lodgers and one was called Marian, which i thought very funny for a bloke. . Haven't thought about him for years. Maybe he went to woodnook because he had gone there when he lived in Orange St and didn't like changing schools.
