A story handed down in my HINDLE family is that we could have claimed money left in the will of John Mercer but could not afford to prove a claim to be related. I have enquired and learned that John's son, Robert(?) , did leave some dosh 'to be distributed amongst my cousins' and that his grandmother was a Hindle. So, there may be truth in the story.

Are any other Accywebbers descended from the Mercers or HINDLES. ?
