Sir William Wiggins Cocker

Hello everyone, I've just joined Accrington web because of my family roots. I've been investigating my family background on my mother's side.

I've discovered that Sir William Wiggins Cocker was my Mother's, mother's, cousin. My mother, Jean Whitehead Gander nee Wilson, her mother Alice Cocker. Does anyone have any info re the Cocker family from Accrington; after Alice died when my Mum was 4 yrs old, my mother ended up in Blackpool being raised by her aunt Maud Cocker. I found a picture of Sir William's house Glen Wold, Queens Rd. Has anyone got a photo of Sir William himself, for my family tree. Sir William had a wife called Rhoda. Does anyone know, where I could get a photo of him and her?

Me; I've lived in Littlehampton, West Sussex all my life. Mum and Dad migrated down here from Blackpool for work, not long after they were married. I've visited Blackpool, and would now like to visit Accrington and see the family town. Some of family roots go back into cotton mill workers. Hope someone can help my enquiries. Thanking in advance! Antty Patty

Patty. Send me a private message with your email address and I will put you in touch with the family. In Blackpool's early days there was an Alderman Wm Cocker. A street is named after him and a clock tower in Stanley Park. He was a big -wig. I don't know of any connection with Sir William
