The Dappers
Speaking of the Dappers, I just spent the week in Blackpool with my daughter. Visited Accrington last Thursday and spent the afternoon in the Commercial in Accy with my old mate Franny Franks. 4 hours of reminiscing about our pasts and the pubs and clubs and dance halls from our time growing up in the 50s and 60s. Spoke about Accy Stanley and all the pretty girls we used to go out with.( Never knew we had that much in common) Loads of good memories were shared. Sorry I missed you this time Cashy as thursday was the only day that I could fit into a very busy week. It was so good to catch up with Franny, although we have so much in common and families that are related, we had not seen each other since 1968. That will change now as I shall be visiting my home town on a more regular basis.

Re: The Dappers
On the way to Blackpool one night with my friend and her mum and dad. Pulled into a petrol station to fill up. The Dappers were there filling up their van. Billy came over to chat and gave me an autographed photo. Made my day because they were my favourite local group at the time.

Re: The Dappers
Hi,
Not sure whether in some of the earlier posts whether you were mentioning the same person that I knew very well. His name was Peter Hibbert. He lived on Marsden Street, played with Lennie Herbert in a group called ????. They often played at the dance hall on Knowlmere Street. He worked as a draughtsman at the English Electric in Clayton-le-Moors the same as I did. As far as “The Dappers” go sorry, but I can’t recall them. Cheers Philip |
