Ashes Tickets Wanted.
Later this year, Lettie and I are off to Australia to see in the New Year in Sydney, then spend about 3 weeks touring New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
The main reason for us travelling at this time is to see England play Australia in the last Ashes Test at Sydney, from Tuesday 2nd of Jan to Saturday 6th of Jan. We also hope to see a couple of One Day Internationals, at the MCG in Melbourne, on Friday 12th of Jan and also at the Gabba, in Brisbane, on Friday 19th of Jan. Does anyone in the world of Accyweb know of any pairs of tickets for sale for these dates? I am willing to pay for costs over the cover price of the ticket incurred in the purchase of tickets, but I cannot afford to pay the ridiculous prices that some of the English touts and Aussie scalpers are already asking. Can anyone please help? :) |
Re: Ashes Tickets Wanted.
You lucky sods! Wish i could help with the tickets but it sounds like the aussies are going to make it very difficult to get tickets. I heard on the radio this morning that someone was selling some for mega bucks!
Hope you have a great time and good luck... |

Thanks for the link to the Barmy Army site. It is possible to buy tickets from them, provided you enroll on one of their package holidays, which proves considerably more expensive than doing things independantly. Quote:

Re: Ashes Tickets Wanted.
Thanks Kipax.... I'm all excited now. Unfortunately tickets for Sydney and the Gabba were sold out, but evidently cricket does not go down as well in Melbourne so at least we've managed to get tickets to one of the one day internationals...:D I am not a cricket fan and have never been to a match, but Sparks loves it and it should be a really good day out for him.....Who knows, I may enjoy it and become a fan.:engsmil: :engsmil:

Re: Ashes Tickets Wanted.
Not a cricket fan myself.. I couldnt sit and watch a game.. but then I am the type who cant sit on a beach doing nothing... I can photograph a game of cricket as that constitutes doing summat :)
A one day match should be better for a first timer IMHO and in australia I imagine its not as relaxed and quiet as here...should be fun and at the end of the day its another experience for you to tick off ... I would say enjoy but I bet ya will hehe |
