We have decided to get a Kitten after Spike got killed back in September we now feel is the time to have another we dont want to get an old cat as much as i could have taken them all home with me!! Want it to be a friend for a long time just like Spike was. Any help would be great i dont mind paying for it but nothing too expensive. Thank You all. xx |
Re: Kitten
have you tried the blackburn cat rescue ?
I got one of my cats from the woman who runs it - she does it totally on her own and she takes in cats & kittens that have been dumped in the street, she isnt a charity but a rescue centre ( thats based in her home - she has the most amazing back garden that houses her cats) , she would of course check you out first and if I remember rightly you make a donation to her (I gave 25 quid or whatever you can afford) cause as she pays all the vet bills herself for the cats she nurses...she is a lovely woman who does a lot of hardwork looking after these animals who have been left for dead in some cases...I got my cat from her 18 months ago, he had been battered, dumped in the street and set on fire...she nursed him back to good health and he's a little menace at times... anyway her details are EUNICE FAULKNER, Blackburn Cat Rescue, Pleckgate Road, Blackburn. if you want her number let me know or dial directory enquiries for it...or just drive down and drop in, if I remember correctly she lives just across from the fire station... |

Re: Kitten
I got 2 cats from MOGGY's in Darwen. She is called Maureen, and she is lovely. She relies on donations too.
Her home is just behind The crown factory in darwen. I have only just recently deleted her number off my phone or I could have given it to. But I'm sure it will be in the yellow pages. |
Re: Kitten
There are usually some in the ad pages of the Telegraph.
Reminds me of when I found a cat but didn't know who its owner was. I put an ad in the paper saying that I'd found a cat. I got a couple of calls from genuine people who had lost their cats but I also got at least two calls from nutters who offered to 'dispose' of the cat for me. |

sorry mummiboo for the thread wander, hope you get your kitten soon :) |
Re: Kitten
I have tried the Cats Rescue in Preston that to is run by an independent woman who looks after them all on her own but when i rang her they had none.
It is if you will "out of season" for kittens because most cats dont like to go out in the cold for "it" and who would blame them! I dont think i could try the pet rescue place at Accy/Blackburn because i live in preston what if they wanted to do a home visit. Sods law when you want one you cant get one when you dont want one their all over the place! lol Im going to ring a few places from the yellow pages tomorrow see if we have any luck there. |
Re: Kitten
mummiboo, blackburn cat rescue dont come out for a home visit, she just watches you with the cats she has to see that you have handled them before and genuinley want one...she never came out to our house...she told us she doesnt have the time to do so...and if she thinks that someone isnt suitable then she will say no.....so...

Re: Kitten
Can't help very much Mummiboo, but my grandaughter went to Bowland school which is more or less out in the country and lots of her friends were sons of farmers. Their cats were always producing kittens, as she was always trying to persuade me to take one after losing my cat.
Might be worth a try though with some of the local ones around Preston. |
Re: Kitten
Deffo give Moggies a try;we got our cat from there;no home visit as stated previously ;she just makes sure you aren't a headcase! The cats come spayed or neutered and have up to date innoculations.
