xbox 360 or ps3
 

Anyone on accyweb know of anywhere other then game or gamestation that sell second hand xbox 360 or playstation 3 consoles? The consoles are quite alot of money this christmas and i dont think theres much difference between a new one and second hand one other then a few scratches which will happen with a new one anyway. So do anyone know of any places?

The little shop someone mentioned is called megaswop. Its a great little place, games are usually 30quid when they come out instead of the 40-50 everywhere else wants. Honest opinions on games and consoles (they wont tell you something is good just so you will buy it). Also they will usually offer you some money off if you were to buy a console and a few games or accesseries(sp?). So yeah id definately recommend popping in and seeing what they can do for you.

To be honest I'd stay away from Cash Converters for anything electrical - on Saturday they were selling a 2nd hand dvd recorder with only a three month guarantee for only as fiver less than you can buy the exact same one in Asda brand new.

Unfortunately with the Xbox 360 that is NOT the case. The newer models that are coming along are more reliable as they run cooler (smaller chips means less electricity going through the console). I got one at launch and it was very noisy and ran very hot. Recently I bought a new one which I was happy to find had had the new Falcon chipset (look it up on Google) and it runs very quiet and a bit quieter than the one I bought at launch.

The Xbox 360, despite being great for playing, has the most unreliable hardware ever in a gaming console. Make sure you don't get an old unreliable one! ;)
