how old is the child you are wanting the bike for, or is it for an adult

PC Sarchet added: "Many people fail to realise that anyone who rides a mini-moto on a public highway requires both insurance and an appropriate driving licence. I urge people to consider this, particularly in the run-up to Christmas. Anyone who is thinking of buying a mini-moto as a present should consider the implications.

Just type mini moto in the search on Lancs Tel website to find that the police are clamping down on their (mis)use

Think again---- unless you own a large area of land where it will be used

In which case you should also consider that most mini moto's are NOT road legal, have not passed type approval and cannot easily be made road legal. At 16 all he can ride is a moped (50cc restricted to 30mph) and to do so he neeeds a CBT cert, tax, insurance and a road legal ( type approved/SVA'd) DVLA registered machine.

Good bit of advise there.

Mini Moto's are just asking for trouble or injury IMO.

Re: WANTED: mini moto, little monkey bike or similar

if you really want to help him get him a moped and an interest in proper bikes

He will become a far safer driver because he will learn just how delicate a human is.

I guess the real Q is what do you want him to learn from this whole experience

If its just how to have a laugh on a bike then you are asking for trouble as they go faster than you expect.(I'm a biker with 2x 1000cc bikes in my garage so I do know hat I'm saying). he'll also get the bug, trust me
