Hi Willy,
You want to get rid of this bunny so that you can breed more? What a callous attitude! I'll give this poor rejected creature a loving home, but I won't pay you a penny for it. My own bunny died recently at the age of 7 years, so I have everything it needs.

What a strange post. Do you expect her to keep every rabbit she breeds?

Andromeda 18-03-2008 14:36

Re: bunny

No Neil, She intends breeding them for profit, why else? If this one was a pet, she wouldn't want rid of it. Didn't you notice she said 'the kids call her Fluffy ', not 'we'. My guess is she intended breeding from this one, then discovered that the lops are more popular, so decided to replace it with a pair of lops to breed from. It's a business.

Re: bunny

Oh yes K.S.H. you're right. Seems suspicious! I wonder if this rabbit has been used for breeding and has out lived her use? It's hard to tell the age of a rabbit. So he may be looking to retire her. Puts the whole thing in a different light.

ANDROMEDA, if your refering to fluffy,no she has not out lived her use as she has a propper pedigree and is 12 months old next month..as for breeding her,i will not breed any rabbit till it is are over 12 months old anyway.

broadhurst7173 21-03-2008 09:54

Re: bunny

does have to bred from before they are 12 mths old, otherwise their pelvis can fuse and they can die giving or trying to give birth, so please dont breed them if you dont know what you are doing.

Do you need a license to breed rabbits and is the breeder and premises checked before a license is granted? I do hope so.
Neil, I don't have issues. I'm just very concerned about the welfare of animals in general. This 'Willy Wonka' seems confused about the age and breed of this particular rabbit and I would like to know the full story.

willy wonk 21-03-2008 13:00

Re: bunny

Andromeda, told You Once,i Do Not Breed Rabbits Till They Are Over 12 Months Old And The One I Am Selling Is Only 11 Months, therefore I Have Not Bread Her.........also I Do Know The Breed Of Her As I Have Her Pedigree.......so I Am Not Confused About Her Age As I Have Had Her Since She Was 8 Weeks Old.

Don't think you need a licence to breed rabbits,, I think you should back off a little and maybe be a bit more trusting, how can the seller be confused about the rabbit's age if they have the certificate? Unless of course thats a forgery and there is some major league rabbit racketeering going on ?:rolleyes:

emamum 21-03-2008 18:06

Rabbit Racketeering funds drug dealers lol

I think not!

All of my rabbits have been house bunnies, but they are VERY destructive. They chew through electric cables, skirting boards, anything except plastic really.

Re: bunny

:) I learned the hard way. had to buy a new fridge-freezer shortly after getting my first rabbit, husband wasn't best pleased! She also ate my garden, bit the cat, couldn't reach the handle to open the door, so chewed a hole in it instead, cut the phone wire in half, dug a hole in the carpet.... so why, now that she's dead, am I desperate to replace her? It's just not the same without a bunny around.
