if you have the right fire, you dont need a fire surround.

Re: Wanted fire surround

Unfortunately the fire just doesnt quite cover the hole in the chimney breast where the old fire was , hence the reason for surround .

surely this would have been done when the fire was fit ?

and we have a spanking new big limestone fireplace & fire (much cheapness;)) getting fit in our house in january at some point..finally get rid of the big honking green slate fireplace with the 74" hearth:eek: that I have hated to look at for last 6 years:D - am I going to enjoy pulling that off the wall or what?!:D:D:D

trust me mate its honking...straight out of the 1960's! - it runs the whole length of my breast (62") and round the sides with a 74x14 hearth..it will be a pleasure taking a kango/bolster & hammer to it!
and no chance:D, I have mates from the work fitting the thing for me as its too big for one guy to do (me) and they will cap my gas as my new fires a bit different from my normal one... they dont mind doing it...payment in beer? they say?...no probs at all..
I might help out if I can be bothered..
