Large sheets cardboard needed
 

If anyone has any really, really large cardboard boxes, I'd appreciate them I need about four. I mean the really big ones that you get computer screens and stuff in.

I don't know what you want it for but 8' by 4' hardboard is only £4.48 at B&Q and they will cut it for you

That's a really good suggestion but I have absolutely zero budget for this and I need at least 8 sheets - cardboard would be just as good as hardboard.

What are you doing that would need 8 of 8 by 4 sheets?

I'm doing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at St Mary's school. They don't have a stage so I have to use backdrops and my idea was that I would use the shop rail - see separate thread - with cardboard hanging from it that was interchangeable with different pictures painted on it.

So they need to be large (to fit on the rail), light (so they can be moved by children) and not dangerous (so they can be moved by children), free (because I have no money for this as I'm doing it out of the kindness of my heart and I've already paid for the licence) - so I need free cardboard.

this may sound stupid but cant you paint on white sheets?

calico or something like that, its quite stiff (or as stiff as sheets can be) and should do the job as good as cardboard

Go to Curry's or comet , they always have large cardboard packageing to go around the washing machines they deliver . Its worth a try ???

I could paint on sheets and I have considered it but it's harder to paint on fabric than on cardboard, so I really want cardboard. Plus, cardboard is rigid, I can just imagine giving the kids sheets to hang in between every scene and they'd end up being wrapped up in them.

I'm guessing that I need some of those big boxes that computer screens come in - see post 1!!!!!!

ask at asda they get all sizes of boxes and have never refused me any when i have been moving

which is quite often lol

e w cartons, cardboard cartons, cardboard cases, animal bedding, horse bedding, ... YORK MILL, YORK STREET, RISHTON BB1 4PQ BLACKBURN , LANCASHIRE ...

they charge next to nothing and have every size anyone would ever need,nice and friendly staff also

if asking at Asda ring about 10pm as most of the big cartons are worked over night and the cardboard taken away so i,d ring and ask them to save you some
