Re: Garmin i3 Sat Nav
If it takes up to 10 min to lock on, it's not a fault.
If anyone wants a SatNav, get this one - at a tenner, it's a bargain. |

I would have it if we did not already have one each. By the way you can add the latest maps to the i3 fairly easily ;):D |
Re: Garmin i3 Sat Nav
How much does it cost to update the maps? Mine has reminded me to update three times since we bought it (it does it once a year). I just do a hard reset and it's fine.
A ten-minute lock on happens when the device has been switched off for a while or you've moved a fair distance since it was last on. The gazeteer (the database telling the unit where all the satellites should be) isn't up-to-date so it has to grab a new copy. It'll also take ages to lock on if you're moving while it's tryng to pin down a position. |

Re: Garmin i3 Sat Nav
So once it has locked on, does it work perfectly OK?
detects where you are when the car is moving OK? If so I might have a play with it for a tenner. |
Re: Garmin i3 Sat Nav
