Oranges are not the only fruit
 
someone mentioned this book to me the other day...i've never read it so i picked up a copy from the library today and started reading it (Jeanette Winterson who was from Accy wrote it)


has anyone possibly got a copy of it on dvd that i could borrow?

i know when it was on telly it was in 3 parts

christ i dont thihk you will get that on dvd its ancient , maybe somone has a vhs copy lol

It is on DVD, I watched it again recently.

Sorry I can't loan you the copy I saw Flashy, but it's in Spain now.

The programmes were much better than the book, in my opinion.

they are of course on ebay but abit pricey...

There are loads on Ebay if that helps? Cheapest one I could see was for £9 with free postage.

i didnt look into tis too much but i think you ca get it free here to watch on your pc

you could convert itto dvd yourself after downloading it

Emily Aston who plays the younger Jess, is the sister of Sam Aston, who plays Chesney in Corrie.

in the book the girl is called Jeanette (as in the author) but as you put it and i've read reviews on it and they refer to her as Jess, why in the film is she called Jess??

I don't know why the name was changed.

Perhaps because it was supposed to be semi-autobiographical, and because the television programme would reach a wider audience, she wanted to distance herself from the main character.

That didn't really work though, as the national press descended on Accrington, to ask her mother if what had been shown was true.
