Jobs with new names

I was watching the local news & the old topic of school meals Health/value for money came up in one of the items yet again!
They interviewed an 'expert' with the job title Menu co-ordinator which I take it means 'Senior Dinner Lady'

What other nonsense job titles have been created over the past few years?

Personally I wish back in 1967 when I was asked what Job I wanted when I leave school by the careers Master (that's a title that's bound to have changed since then), that I had said, Menu co-ordinator because when the teacher quite rightly would have said "no such job exists"

I could have replied, "not yet, but there will be a job with that name in 2005, so I won't have to start work 'til I'm in my fifties!"

not nessasarily less, there is some one in head office (not schools) who is in charge of doing the menu's, they send you a months menu's to you & you MUST follow the ones that they have sent, its very hard work being as you called them (dinner ladies) now, as you have more than one person to answer too.

I'm not trying to knock the genuine work done by this glorious band of ladies, just showing how these days we (or rather the powers that be) would rather give a job a fancy title instead of calling a spade, a garden soil turning implement.

;)

I quite like "Rodent Operative" - used to be Ratcatcher. Try the Guardian - they have some weird and wonderful job descriptions!

What would you call me?

Teacher = surrogate parent. Well that is what's seemingly expected of them these days.

I have the postcard but I can't decide what to write on it.

I attached it then thought better and removed it.

Not got a postcard, but an apt description in my view would be:

Hardworking and creatively talented person currently non-productive due to ill health.

True.

Don't you mean an "earth inverting horticultural implement" ?
