Jobs with new names
I was watching the local news & the old topic of school meals Health/value for money came up in one of the items yet again!
They interviewed an 'expert' with the job title Menu co-ordinator which I take it means 'Senior Dinner Lady' What other nonsense job titles have been created over the past few years? Personally I wish back in 1967 when I was asked what Job I wanted when I leave school by the careers Master (that's a title that's bound to have changed since then), that I had said, Menu co-ordinator because when the teacher quite rightly would have said "no such job exists" I could have replied, "not yet, but there will be a job with that name in 2005, so I won't have to start work 'til I'm in my fifties!" |
Re: Jobs with new names
not nessasarily less, there is some one in head office (not schools) who is in charge of doing the menu's, they send you a months menu's to you & you MUST follow the ones that they have sent, its very hard work being as you called them (dinner ladies) now, as you have more than one person to answer too.

Re: Jobs with new names
I quite like "Rodent Operative" - used to be Ratcatcher. Try the Guardian - they have some weird and wonderful job descriptions!

Teacher = surrogate parent. Well that is what's seemingly expected of them these days.

Not got a postcard, but an apt description in my view would be:
Hardworking and creatively talented person currently non-productive due to ill health. True. |
