Re: mentaly ill or pre meditated murder..?
I think what these poor men and women in the armed forces have to see would drive any one to distraction but to turn on his own men there was something sadly wrong with him

Re: mentaly ill or pre meditated murder..?
Tinkerbelle please can you re-edit your post so it is "Sooo politically incorrect" again :)
After reading the article you linked to I think he is a murderer and deserves the death penalty. I have copied a section of it below. I believe he should have been tried for treason as well as murder. The same goes for any British citizens that bear arms against us. "Prosecutors say Akbar told investigators he launched the attack because he was concerned U.S. troops would kill fellow Muslims in Iraq. They said he coolly carried out the attack to achieve “maximum carnage” on his comrades in the 101st Airborne Division." |
Re: mentaly ill or pre meditated murder..?
Going off that news article it sounds like he knew exactly what he was doing and why.

Re: mentaly ill or pre meditated murder..?
there was no concern for the people of the country that was his home, just another fanatic.certainly not nuts in my opinion, his main concern was obviously moslems not his own countrymen, they were of no consequence to him, sooner they top him the better.

Re: mentaly ill or pre meditated murder..?
I don't like the options on this vote...I would prefer to vote extremist and mentally ill.

Re: mentaly ill or pre meditated murder..?
War affects different people different ways. Shell shock was once considered to be a form of cowardice now it is an illnes. It is possible it got too much for this guy and he lost the plot. If he pleads to mental illness he needs not prove as so much that the prosocution has to disprove it wasnt mental but premeditated. On this issue I go innocent until proven guilty and vote accordingly. Illness!
