Why would you steal that??

I got a new cooker about 2 months ago and the old electric one was in my back yard while I optimistically tried to get the council to come and shift it.Having had no luck even getting thru to the Council I was beginning to despair,BUT some kind hearted thieves have saved me a job by breaking into my back yard and stealing it! Good effort lads! It won't work as it's been out in the rain for 2 months and was rubbish before that!So there you have the answer to all your removal needs,it obviously helps if the object looks like it might still serve some purpose, just leave it in view and some light fingered yob will remove it for you free of charge!:)

We have people knocking on the door asking if we have any srap that needs moving all the time, this is because the price of scrap metal has shot up.

Re: Why would you steal that??

Maybe you should have advertised it for sale as scrap Lindsay.

Re: Why would you steal that??

Probably if you had put your cooker outside the back door with a sign on it saying "Please help yourself", nobody would have taken it! Funny, innit?

Re: Why would you steal that??

Sorry Lindsay l should really have asked before l took the cooker!

Garinda will be wearing a rather large brooch made of white enamel at the Stag this Saturday.

No Willow, but if I'd known there was a faulty cooker going I would have had it, then I would have a good excuse for always eating take aways!

Re: Why would you steal that??

the best way to dispose of any rubbish is to simply throw it down the back alley

then report fly tipping to ther council

a man turns up to investigate where it came from

scratches is head after not been able to find a name or address on the offending rubbish

within 24hrs it is taken away :D

THE CORRECT WAY

ring council to tell them u need rubbish rmoving from your back yard

get told it could be upto 4 weeks before it is removed

leave back gate open for upto 4 weeks until item is removed

get burgled or shed broke into because gate was left open

insurance refuses to pay out as you left acess for burgulars in leaving gate open

i know which method i will use;)

I had a clear-out of my garage about a year ago. I had about a hundred, decent plant pots of all shapes and sizes. I put them on the wall of the front garden with a notice saying, "Please help yourself." Not a single one was taken. I should have left them by the garage door. I bet the whole lot would have gone overnight.

I remember in my youth climbing over the " Dizzy " wall armed with a screwdriver to get the knobs off the dumped gas cookers. Well our damn cooker was years old, you could`nt get the parts and I was doing my mum and dad a favour!!

Dizzy=Destructor at the end of Argyle street where the bin wagons used to empty all the rubbish before they discovered landfill!

:D Ah yes the Rats Back... spent most of my childhood down there, playing by the gasometers ( How deep was that water round their base!) paddling in the River Stink and a handy short cut to the fair. Next you`ll be saying you played on the Donkeys Field` Chav!!

chav1 30-04-2005 15:37

Re: Why would you steal that??

aye the donkey field

we used to ride our bikes down the slope into the long grass if it wasnt cut for a while it got waist high

the small group of trees in the middle were good for climbing

they put some houses and a nursing home there now

its the destruction of all these plaves like the dizzy , ratty and donkey field that give kids nothing else to do but drink booze on back alleys and hang around the streets

the only thing we have left is the coppice these days and some wan**r wants to ruin that as well with some crappy piece of art

inbetween milnshaw park and gatty park there used to be a huge pond but that got filled in by HBC although no one ever drowned there as far as i know and was great for tadpoling etc

infact they destroyed a good set of ponds whne building the BMW gararge and dindt realy need to as they were way at the back of the BMW gararge on hyndburn road

if anyone knows of any tadpoling places that are left please post them up because i would like to take my kids tadpoling as a break from the xbox lol

Re: Why would you steal that??

When I was a sproglet, living up Ossy, we used to go tadpoling in a pond behind where Stanhill Ring Mill used to be, half way up Aspen Lane, then tun off to the right.
