Human Rights
 

I just saw an article on the local news about the old Brighton Police Station which is situated under the Town Hall. It has been reopened as a museum.

There was one part where the reporter said that criminals used to be manacled to the walls in the freezing cells, and the human rights were not like they used to be.

Now if that sort of thing was still going on, do you think there would be more crimes committed, or less?

Since when should criminals have rights anyway?

Criminals have better rights than the rest of us since all these overpaid underworked do gooders started realising that they could get lots of publicity by fighting for a supposed cause. :D

I think if Lettie was mannacled up, there would definatly be less crimes committed.

I rather enjoy the right to go where I want, when I want. Unless something has changed, that's one right those who are incarcerated do not have.

actualy at lancaster farm the prison for young offenders upto the age of 21 they are quite free to hop over the fence and walk down the road to the corner shop

although the real hardship begins when they get back into prison as they are tortured relentlessly with free games of pool and cable tv

as for been able to go where we want and where we want this may well be our right but because there are so many scumbags there are plenty of areas of town it simply isnt safe to walk especialy at night so although we have the right to go where we want we cant because it is not safe to do so anymore

torture racks etc should be brought back and the old bread and water menu returned to prisons

Hehehe, or some young offenders are sent on a 2 week jolly to Spain at the taxpayers expense. It's almost worth committing a crime in this country. There should be no rights without responsibilities. I agree with Chav, prisons are way too soft in this country, then you get these crims claiming compensation because they were hurt whist taking part in a prison riot. It would be a hilarious scenario as part of a comedy sketch but unfortunately it's true.

Although you do read from time to time that certain people are beaten up on occasion.

I saw a headline on the front page of The Sun while waiting in a queue in WHSmith at the weekend where Huntley was ambushed in the shower and beaten up. Is the second time this has happened?

its at least 40 years since P.D.was abolished in prisons,by the prison reform doogooders,i'm still waiting for the positive effects of the abolition,they say patience is a virtue,i say bulls***

the only way to get justice in our country is to also break the law and deal with the pervers and theives ourselves

What a peculiar spot Mr Jones's leader, Mr Blair, now finds himself in; having embarked upon a course of military action, he is now in the position of being sued by the relatives of deceased combatants on the basis that military orders given by him were unlawful and in obeying those orders their (the deceased) human rights were compomised.

Who signed up to all this European Human Rights nonsense anyway? Who put his mark on the paper for Great Britain? Why, none other than Tony Blair, PM. And who is now regarded as one of the finest Civil Rights advocates in the British legal system? Why, step forward Cherie Booth, QC!!

Would'nt it be fun to see Blair being prosecuted by his Mrs!!!!

Human rights for prisoners should reflect the crimes for which they have been committed. A mother who struggled to pay her rent and fiddled the benefit system should have more rights than an old bast-ard who premeditatedly killed a child.
