Celebrity Love Island

How low can you go?

Any programme that has Abi Titmuss, Rebecca Loos and Callum Best in it sends shivers down my spine. I thought they'd scrapped the bottom of the barrel with The Farm.

Aaaah Purplelass, a woman after my own heart. I can't stand this drivel that TV producers refer to as entertainment. How thick do they think we are? The only thing worse than this is Big Brother and every time I switch on the radio I hear that BB is starting again soon. I can think of nothing more boring than sitting in your house watching loads of wannabees sitting in a house. Needless to say I shan't be watching the Z-list celebrity love island. I'd rather be addicted to fags, alcohol, drugs and chocolate than s**t tv....:D ;)

Now you've depressed me. I'd forgotten that summer means another series of BB.

never seen so much crap in my life!what pi..es me off most is the camera angle, i dont want to count the hairs up her sn.t box, i want action but it looks like i am going to have to go out and film it myself. we pay good money for a telly license and we buy the latest COLOUR TELEVISIONS what do they put on all afternoon, bloody black and white films ,do we get a discount no chance total rip off, thank god for roy and the accy web.....cheers mate.

Re: Celebrity Love Island

Its just another case of production companies jumping on the 'reality tv' bandwagon. If they can think of an idea, they will film it no matter how tedious or ridiculous it seems.

I haven't yet watched Celebrity Love Island, and thinking ahead, I don't think I am likely too either.

Re: Celebrity Love Island

l like to try most things once, and gave it 15 minutes yesterday. Utter load of tosh. Z- list celebrities, who unless you watch Hollyoaks you won't have seen before. It's the sort of rip off TV you used to find on Sky.

At least Rebecca Loos pulling off a pig had some dignity compared with this.

Big Brother? Love it l'm afraid. Spent part of last year working as a Nadia look-a-like! All my detractors will be pleased to hear l won't be on here half as much when it' s on. Unless l'm in it, but l'm supposed to keep schtum- you aint seen me right?

You've never watched "Big Brother" or "Wife Swap" or "I'm a celebrity" then? EVER??

Most people slate these programmes on forums like this but they cannot back it up when they have watched car crash tv before.........and still do.
What do you watch lindsay?Soaps?..............Eastenders...........a nother waste of licence payers money!!

If you HATE all reality shows then obviously you have watched them or you wouldn't know what they are about.

People come on forums and say i hate this i hate that, but they dont say why they hate it or whether they have watched/seen it before.

I think people should back up their opinions a bit more instead of giving 3 word answers.
I HATE IT!!

...........and i dont mean writing a 1000 word essay on the subject!!
lol

(I love reality tv......folk making complete ti*s of themselves... ......JASON)

Re: Celebrity Love Island

Wrong again Jason,I don't watch a single soap either.I watched about half of the Jungle thing with Phil Tufnell in it but I couldn't stand the horse faced Tara Palmer Wotsit.I haven't watched a reality prog since then.I really have very little interest in watching other people's sad ego trips.
When I do watch tv [and it's very rare] I watch documentaries or sport or the occasional comedy. The tv is usually occupied by my daughter watching dinosaur programmes or any other wild life stuff.:D

Did you enjoy your 'sad ego trip', Jason?!!

Of course, there's nothing particularly "realistic" about reality TV. It's cheaply contrived nonsesne.

Heck, I prefer a **mediocre** book to reality TV twaddle.

lindsay ormerod 18-05-2005 16:57

Re: Celebrity Love Island

Quite right Billcat;I'd settle for a copy of Viz over reality tv anyday! It worries me that tv producers have no original ideas anymore;all we get is this 4th rate trash ;hang on I've just had a brilliant idea....loads of z list celebs on an island,Jordan,Peter,Paris,Fran etc etc BUT no food on the Island and it's surrounded by sharks!!! See who gets eaten first! Better stick Vanessa on there too for a bit of nourishment.

Knowing how that crowd behaves, they'd eat the poor fellow running the camera. Then again, I think the sharks would be more in danger from the celebs than vice versa.

Grill me a mako steak!:p

Re: Celebrity Love Island

If Jason wants us reality tv haters to back up our statements then here's my backup.

I watched some of the 1st and 2nd series of BB. I found it to be mind numblingly boring.

I watched the first series of survivor and although marginally more entertaining than BB it was still crap.

I watched the celebrity survivor, even less entertaining than the unheard of people one but probably cost a lot more in salaries for the same drivel.

I watched one episode of wife swap and felt that it was totally staged, not a bit real and tv for certified morons.

I watched some of how clean is your house because I knew someone who was on it, and she was told not to clean her house for 6 months before the show. How real is that?

I think that I am more than qualified to give my opinion on reality tv, so I shan't be wasting my time watching celebrity love island which is now rumoured to be having the plug pulled early due to losing 2 million viewers since it started. Not a good advert for a tv show in my book.:D

Why should you have to provide backup. There's too little time and more than enough in the way of great books, music, theatre, trips to the pub with friends, etc., etc. If some form of alleged "entertainment" comes along, where you find the basic concept to be unappealing, you have every right to summarily dismiss it. I've had the opportunity to watch both "The Weakest Link" and "Dog Eat Dog" here in the USA. While we have had many outstanding imports of UK TV shows, "Link" was weak and "Dog" was a mutt. You'd have to pay me at a pretty good rate before I'd tune them in again. Just to be fair, the UK hardly has a monopoly on twaddle and tripe, as there are many American TV shows that I also find completely unappealing.

Re: Celebrity Love Island

For a real Reality T.V. programme why not bring back public executions or floggings. That would bring back the reality to television. We could use some of these useless actors that appear on the reality shows and be rid of them before the next season starts
