Gypsies at Aldi?

How much are they?

Re: gypos back on aldi

shame the council wont go out of their way to move them on,i now they have to apply to the courts to get eviction of the land.lets hope garinda has bought them all as they are on b.o.g.o.f

Re: gypos back on aldi

We seem to be getting more & more lately. The ones on Aldi are probably here for a wedding therefore wont stay long anyway. though I could be wrong. If they are only visiting why can't they park on or near the 2 or is it 3 sites that already exist.

Neil 04-06-2005 09:39

Re: gypos back on aldi

The Aldi car park is not a Council issue. It is private land. It needs the lands owner to ask them to move first. If they don't then the Police can move them.

garinda 04-06-2005 09:54

Re: gypos back on aldi

They should put them on special offer, 'buy one get one free' and you get a set of pegs thrown in.

Soon be all gone.

I have. She was called Heather but she wasn't very lucky.

Must walk round with my eyes shut, didn't see them yesterday but certainly saw them this afternoon. I know it's not Aldis fault but i certainly won't be parking on the car park whilst they are there. Like Chav says make sure your windows and doors are locked. As Debbie says just hope they are here for a social occasion and that they go soon.

The travellers arrived on the Aldi car park last night and they have 24 hours to vacate.......the police were involved because they were parked on disabled spaces.

Well lets just hope they move cos i won't rest til they're gone

Reidy 04-06-2005 22:31

Re: gypos back on aldi

Nope me either they cause nothing but mess and its not good for local residents, there children dont behave and just go round smashing things up and intimidating local redidents children, If you ask me there should be laws on these people just being able to pull up and park their vans wherever they like after all this is why we do have "SITES!!" for these people!!

Steph 04-06-2005 22:34

Re: gypos back on aldi

Thats a really good point. Why do we have the SITES for them and yeah most of their kids are naughty and ill mannered

What are the police going to do fine them, whats the fine for parking in a disabled space, 20 quid? Good old Accy coppers always there when you need them.

chav1 05-06-2005 02:51

Re: gypos back on aldi

to be fair the police cant move them untill the 24hrs is up

blame the doo gooders

typical though isnt it

hundreds of law abiding people are getting forced out of their homes and having to settle for pay outs far less than the value of their homes to make room for posh new houses yet the law simply isnt strong enough to move some theiving dirty scum of a carpark

go figure ..!

Debbie J 05-06-2005 08:15

Re: gypos back on aldi

I don't agree that they are dirty as I used to help out at a secondary school that had a number of Gypos. One kid came in one day with welts accross his back. His Dad had beaten him with a stick for not having a wash before school. But I wont disagee that there kids are unruly & violent.

Re: gypos back on aldi

I agree with the sentiments expressed about the gypsies but I would like to pose a question regarding discrimination. Why is it apparently OK to abbreviate the name of this community to Gypo but abbreviate the name of the Pakistani community and the politically correct thought police are deleting posts and telling us its not acceptable to refer to them as such. Surely calling travellers gypoes causes just as much offence.

It is wrong to call them Gypo's they are supposed to be called "travellers" according to the politically correct & Council estate managers, so I was told on numerous occasions. The Travellers hate being called by any other name & will tell you so.

Sparkologist 05-06-2005 09:19

Re: gypos back on aldi

Well I'm not politically correct, and I don't believe the term, "Travellers" does these people justice. So I will just continue to call 'em PARASITES!
But I'm not going to abbreviate it to para's.

They contribute nothing to the community. They just cause heartache and upset for the local residents, and leave all their squalour and rubbish behind when they move on, or more usually are evicted.

gypos arnt dirty....?

take a look at aldis carpark when they leave and see if you still think the same

I'm not sure that the term travellers is correct ,one group have been living in a couple of houses for the last 12 months or so.
Where does the travelling come into it?

what i dont understand is with all the vehicals they have why cant they stop by the tip and get rid of their crap instead of dumping it in public places

Re: gypos back on aldi

Thanks for the pics Reidy. I actually expected worse, but what they have left is bad enough. I bet the Council won't be slapping any clean up orders on these people. It will be left to some unfortunate minimum wage earner at Aldi to get rid of that lot..

chav1 05-06-2005 19:24

Re: gypos back on aldi

the last time gypos were at aldi they left a similar mess but also left their excrement and urine behind homebase

i appears they used the back of homebase as their toilet

just goes to show how filthy they are because caravans have toilets

Margaret Pilkington 05-06-2005 20:12

Re: gypos back on aldi

At least the rubbish is bagged up.......the last time they were there it was strewn all over the place.

Oh and Lettie, the people who work at Aldi get something in the region of £7:50 per hr.......but I think they are paid like they are self employed.
Not that I think anyone should have to clean up after the travellers, they could quite easily have taken their junk to the tip.

Debbie J 05-06-2005 20:51

Re: gypos back on aldi

As has already been said they did bag up there rubbish. As for being dirty I was referring to their personal not public hygeine!

Margaret Pilkington 05-06-2005 21:09

Re: gypos back on aldi

I'm sure the folk around the Westwood St area will sleep a little more peacefully tonight.

Reidy 05-06-2005 21:55

Re: gypos back on aldi

They will that, but like letie says "I bet the council dont slap any clean up orders on them" they leave rhose for people like us who can now get find for dropping a fag end in the streets. They pay no council tax so i guess its up to the working people of accrington to pay for their mess yet again!!! In my opinion if i were aldi i would skip the lot then empty it at their site on whinney hill and see how they like the rubbish dumping on their ground!!

What are you on about man????? If this was outside the place where your children played would you be happy????? errrrm NO!!!!!

WillowTheWhisp 06-06-2005 08:29

Re: gypos back on aldi

I don't think any of us are bigots. I personally have no objection to travelling people or gypsies (all travellers are not gypsies) living the lifestyle they choose and moving around from place to place. What I do object to is the way they park their caravans on private property (ie Aldi car park) where I would not be permitted to park mine and to all the rubbish they dump when I can be fined £1,000 for having more than will fit in my wheelie bin. If we were all treated equally and all behaved equally there would be no problem.

They may well have bagged their rubbish this time (or most of it) but that doesn't alter the fact that they left it dumped on private property with someone else having to take responsibility to get rid of it. And can using the back of Homebase as a toilet be in any way classified as clean behaviour? OK so the kids have a wash before going to school. So do mine and I hope everyone else's do too, but we don't leave excrement behind public shopping areas do we? I really cannot see how you can classify such behaviour as clean. There are properly designated areas for travellers to park their caravans. Why don't they use those areas? Would you like it if I came and set up my tent in your front garden, left all my rubbish neatly bagged up behind your fence and used the back of a bush as a toilet area? Or would you be phoning the police to get me shifted pdq?

If objecting to a minority group leaving rat attracting rubbish behind, whether it is bagged up or not is bigotry, then yes I am a bigot.

I'm sure that you would also be a bigot if they left this mess in your back yard...:D

Margaret Pilkington 06-06-2005 10:06

Re: gypos back on aldi

Well said Willow and Lettie. And StvKy...no we are not bigots, just people who live by the rules and expect nothing more than that of others.

chav1 06-06-2005 10:50

Re: gypos back on aldi

ahh gypos friends of the earth

14 year old kids driving transit vans and not a flicker of interest from the police

dodgy builders who prey on the elderly and vulnerable and threaten them when they refuse to pay the increased price after the substandard work is done

driving of cars without insurance and having accidents because they havnt even passed a driving test and impossible to track down even if you get the registration number

commit crimes knowing even if they get caught they will be bailed out and free to dissapear and never been seen again

free to park their caravans where ever they like and leave excriment , waste and childrens nappies all over the floor

yes i am a biggot when it comes to gypos and personaly i think they should have microchips burried into their thick skulls so every move they make can be traced

if you like gypos so much let them park on your driveway or outside your house so they dont have to park up near me

like others have said genuine gypsies/travelers dont act like this what people object to is the scum that call themselves gypsies when infact all they are is a bunch of dirty criminals who move from one location to another

MUMMIBOO 06-06-2005 11:16

Re: gypos back on aldi

Hum we had one of the sorry so called travellers actually no gypsies( her words not mine) in our shop about a month ago now she came in with a child and a big 6v car for a child, the steering wheel had broken off well been pulled off, she had her receipt with her but the manager said we will look at it but we dont have to fix it. She asked why and was replied with because it has not been used according to manufactures instructions if it had this would not have happened with that she then turned aggressive and demanded we fix it right now the manager refused she was jumping at the counter trying to get at him.

So he passed her the sign we have to let people know that we will prosecute if the customer begins any verbal or physical abuse, she then threw this at the manager who by this time had called site security who were in store waiting for the police, after she threw the sign at the manager she continued with " I cant read it yes i am a Gypo im from accrington if you want to report me to the police" the police as it happened were at the next shop down from us they came and took her outside had words with her.

The police woman came back in store later on to tell us they had had words with the woman and it turns out she had 6 kids in the little van and the big battrie operated 6v car she had brought to the shop she was given a warning and told to be on her way.

Now how many people would have got away with that?

Why is the word gypo wrong when she actually refered to herself in that way,

The kid was running riot around the shop and several times had to be stopped from walking out with stuff!!

chav1 06-06-2005 11:32

Re: gypos back on aldi

i have a friend who used to work at blockbuster and a gypo rented a film and came back 20 mins later irate and fuming with anger because the film was subtitled

lots of swearing and threatening to beat my friend up etc simply because the thick sh1t couldnt read subtitles

my friend is a woman yet this brave creature saw fit to invite a transit full of his fellows into the shop to threten and intimidate her over a video

another story from blockbuster and gypos

when doing a shift a family of gypos went into blockbuster and quite happily let their child urinate on the floor against the videos which the poor girl whos shift it was had to clean up and replace all the damaged video covers soaked with urine

some so called gypos may well be pleasant but the majority of them either have a huge chip on their shoulder about sometging or are so ill eductated about what is acceptable behaviour that they simply dont know any better

Reidy 06-06-2005 16:52

Re: gypos back on aldi

How many stories do you hear of of TRAVELLERS helping in the community to make things better for the people of hyndburn???? I work for a company in accrington which supplies materials to Hyndburn Borough Council, The Councils Hyndbur Homes Dept do maintinance work at the site in Huncoat. One of the lads who work for the council was replacing the doors on the wash room house they have which someone had kicked in and stole a washing machine!!!! He got half way through the job turned rond and his van had been hotwired and stolen along with all his own tools!!!! The police turned up and said how could he prove that the travellers had done it??? If you ask me the police and this goverment need to put some control over these people. And start to protect us TAX PAYERS from being taken for a ride by these people. How many times do you hear good reports about them??? I have not heard any yet!!!! I in my opinion would make them pay council tax and tax on wages etc and make them prove how much they earn a week so it can be taxed apropriatley. If we have to do it why shouldnt they, they are no different from us so why should we have to and they dont!!!
