Re: Bins, you think we have it bad
I remember when they were going to tender for their wheely bins as at the time I actually, wait for it.................. worked for a spanish wheely bin company and we applied for this tender which included supplying a sample bin and getting the right colour was a nightmare!!! For one bin it took approx a wastage of 20 bins going through the moulding machine before getting the right colour and approx another 10 to clear out the colour!! And the reason they picked that colour............... was so no-one would nick them from other counties, Doh and this came from the scousers!!!!!! We never did get the bloody tender either

This is Blackpool’s approach to rubbish collection. We’ve had organic bins for a while but now we are due to get a revamp…….

Re: Bins, you think we have it bad
3 wheelie bins is a good idea
although it takes up more room in your garden or yard at least it keeps the rubbish outside your house and not inside |

Re: Bins, you think we have it bad
the way i see it is that there is 2 ways HBC can sort the rubbish issue out
1: go back to weekly collections 2: give us more bins until either one of those happens we will always see exess binbags on back alleys and people are smart enough to not put letters or anything with their address into the bags they are going to leave out to avoid the fines does anyone remember the days when binmen used to carry two steel dustbins , one on each shoulder then empty them into the binwaggon surely it isnt too much trouble to pick up the odd binliner here and there or at best an extra wheelie bin that gets lifted mechanicly into the waggon |

Re: Bins, you think we have it bad
I'm glad I haven't got 3 wheelie bins. I can manage to fit one in the yard along with my boxes which stack but I wouldn't have enough room for two let alone three. I still don't believe that it's a 60/40 ratio of recyclable to non-recyclable. It depends on what you use doesn't it?
Oh and yuck what an awful colour those Scouse bins are. There also seem to be two colours so doesn't look like they were all that fussy in the end does it? |
