Thanks To Accyweb ....
So glad i joined this site. Was browsing through some old posts last night especially the one about Rhyddings Park. A s i read through i noticed one member "ossygobbin" had a link to his web site with old photos of Oswaldtwistle and residents of Ossy.
As i was happily browsing the 900 + intresting photos a picture of my grandad suddenly appeared before me. I was amazed and delved a little more. Suddenly more pictures of my family were popping up, including my mum and dad. Boy did i giggle at them ! To cut a long story short, a picture of my grandmother that i had never seen before popped up. She was so beautiful in her youth. It was the first time i had seen a picture of my grandma since she passed away when i was 8 years old. It brought a few tears, but also a lovely warm feeling too. If it wasnt for accyweb, i would never have seen the pictures ...thankyou. ....and thanks to Cousin Mike "ossygobbin" for hosting them. So happy ! |

It is a great site, and Mike's a great guy always on the lookout for new pics.
My Gramps is on there too. I thought at first you were going to discover we are long lost cousins! Worth a look even if you ain't a Gobbiner. :) |

lol @ garinda. If you are related to Mike, then you are related to me. My grandad, grandma, cousins,aunties and uncles are all featured on Mike's site !

got to endorse the views,the old photos,and the nostalgia is something i really appreciate,also the help i have recieved off mick @ others its a great site-see i can be pleasant! lol

No l'm not related to Mike just that l have my family pictures on the site as well.
Mind you until the first tram came from Accy, l think we were all related through interbreeding! |

That must have been lovely coming across those old photos. I can see why you were so moved.
(My keyboard is drivng me mad. At first that first sentence read " Tht mut hebenlo velycoming acos thoe olphotos." before I went back to correct it. Busman reckons it's got damp or something.) |
