Testing...Testing...two, three, five, (?), ?

I have been feeling a little sensitive lately, my feelings of self-worth have taken a bit of a dip and I needed a bit of an ego boost. I came across this intriguing little test supplied by The Grauniad. I scored 16 out of a possible 25 which means, it helpfully informs me, that I am paid far less than I am worth and confirms my IQ at around 116. I am not sure if this helps my ego or boosts my sense of martyrdom.

It would be interesting to see how others fare...

Your self worth is dipping?

I was unable to fill in an appropriate job description so l snatched 'creative,' and l'm sure the lowest salary was more than all you lovely tax payers give me too.;)

Got 19, creatively guessing. :)

I would never have known it. I hate mathematical type questions and usually avoid them. In the spirit of good Accy Webness I took the test and scored 19. I am not paid nearly enough for my intelligence level. If anyone has any highly paid jobs going, for someone with above average IQ please send me a pm..:D

I scored 17. It seems, like most of us, I am vastly underpaid.

I'm evidently worth far more too, to the value 5. (And that's when I'm tired)

I got 17 - does that mean I'm smarter than you?

I'm well chuffed, got 21 and I'm obviously a genius!!! ha ha, nah was just always good at maths but it was the 3D shapes that did me in!

I'm not sure what it means, luvvie - if indeed it means anything at all. But if it would make you happy then, yes, I suppose...

Gayle is smarter than Acrylic-Bob.

But remember there are others smarter than both of us...!

Re: Testing...Testing...two, three, five, (?), ?

When last tested (properly, using the Wechsler AI Test) I got a ridiculous score - so I do think there is a knack to IQ tests. There is also a cultural element, but don't get me started on that. Went to a Mensa meeting once, and a sadder lot of bores I have seldom come across. Out of all these genius level brains, I think there were only a couple who had even first degrees, but all had an enormous idea of their own intelligence!

(In case you are wondering, I tested at 146, so why am I not running something major and making a fortune?)

WillowTheWhisp 27-06-2005 16:13

Re: Testing...Testing...two, three, five, (?), ?

Oh I'm so glad to know that I'm not the only one who found Mensa boring. The tests are flawed too I agree because there is a cultural element to them and if you've come across certain thngs before then you'll be familiar with them where others wouldn't be.

I like the spacial type puzzles better than the mathematical ones but I don't know what that says about me.

Well I scored 19, like a lot of others. Sounds a bit strange

17 scored, well underpaid.

Re: Testing...Testing...two, three, five, (?), ?

People that declare their genius are usually as thick as two short planks.

Mensa is the Daily Telegraph reader's answer to train spotters, except they will have matching anoraks, bought from the weekend supplements.

I have found that many of the 'brainy' people I have known, haven't got the common sense of a flea.

Any of you lot any good at Sudoku?

One of my old work colleagues used to nickname me "Mensabrain" usually when I'd made some sort of ludicrous mistake.:p He also had a lot of othere nicknames for me.

In answer to Vorlon. If you can ever circumnavigate past the M25 and make it up to one of the meets, l'll show you exactly how l make a swan out of a napkin!! Made top dollars when l used to perform it in a club in Hamburg.;)

I love Sudoku! Can't tell you how sad that is but at least I've recognised it and am now getting medical treatment for it.
