The latest set of adverts from this useful? Company state that they are more helpfuller than they used to be, I think not! I wouldn't recommend them to find a course in English for any-one!

It would be funny if it wasn't for the fact that the kids watching don't know any better and will pick up on this bad English......they'll be telling you that they are 'helpfuller' than little Johnny.......when everyone knows they are 'more helpful'.........they do, don't they......?

Who is 'Sugar Rush'......I was talking about the 118-118 ad and all the other very bad adverts on TV......the ones that teach kids it is fine to spit out their soft drink.......the ones that let children think it is Ok to speak with a mouth full of food.........and I feel for the parents who are trying to do a good job in bringing up children to have good manners...good spelling and a good standard of English.
Television is a pervasive and insidious influence and we allow it into our homes.

Maybe I am just old fashioned......but I don't like the way adverts influence our children.
And on the spelling front...... I'm with you Willow.......very sloppy.

You'd be surprised how many are watching it! My little one came home from school the other day saying all her mates were watching it, could she?

No not yet it must not have caught on with 12 year olds yet, I might have to wait till shes 13 before she asks to watch that one, but I must say I quite like nip/tuck :o Is that a bad thing? lol!

I don't know whether it's a bad thing, but I was mighty peeved when it started showing on Sky - I thought terrestrial had lost it for good, like 24 and a few other programmes that I can't remember right now!

Burn your telly, then you're not subjected to this c**p. Then you could read a book, enjoy a good story, and with luck improve your English at the same time. Personally I always use 118 800 - try that, and put the bad spellers out of business.
