Chirac says english food is crap
this is coming from a guy whos country sees snails , frogs and horses as menue items
he also says the only thing we ever gave europe was madcows disease pity it wasnt anthrax i say ;) |

The French have been sore loosers since Nelson put the boot in. To partly quote one of his fellow country men, Mr Chirac, Watch out for the seagulls at Gleneagles, they may well demonstrate what comes out of your mouth!

Frogs legs and snails are quite tasty and I haven't yet tried horse but I'd be more than happy to. Whats the difference between cow and horse? Only because we don't raise them as food we see it as 'not right'.
In reality what is 'French food'? They eat the same as us only its described in their own language. I like the Philly ad thats on at the moment where the two girls are eating sausage, mash and peas. As for stupid polititians we have more than our fair share of those!!! |

french food. ha, crap food,, here in england at lest we have " sit " on loo`s and NOT a hole in the floor (as on french motorways) there more like skid-pans ...that all them snails for you

I love snails - with lots of garlic butter. I love roast rib of beef as well. Every country has some crap food (there is a Macdonalds in Paris) just as they have good food. Hotel food in this country was muck at one time, no two ways about it, Brown Windsor soup (dishwater with an Oxo cube per gallon), grey "roast beef" that tasted of cardboard, and 'orrible cabbage. Hotel/restaurant food now is generally very good, but you do pay for it. The same food in France is, sad to say, just as good and a lot cheaper.
Anyway, we ate snails and larks and such in this country for hundreds of years, and swan was a delicacy at one time. I wonder who has been feeding Jacques Chirac over here? When I last heard, the food at Gleneagles was superb. Perhaps he brought sandwiches .... |

I used to hate Sunday roasts untill I found out that we were cremating everything. Give me a nice rare roast of beef with gently steamed veg and a crisp yorkshire pud. Lovely! |

Chirac also said Finnish food is worse. Anyone ever had that? Anyone ever been to a Finnish restaurant? As far as I'm aware, the staple dish is smoked reindeer and a variation on smorganboard.
French wine is p*ss now, for the price. I see they can't even give it away and are having to turn it into industrial alcohol. Anyway, who cares about the Frogs? The place reminds me of Africa - peasants surviving on hand-outs while their political leaders do nowt but whinge. Sod 'em. |

Hands up, sorry.
As well as my own country l love France! I love grub full stop. We have some good staple foods in this country, from Lancashire Hotpots to roast joints. On the whole though French food is to me is much more palatable than English. Eating in Lyon or it's equivlent of Birmingham for me is an easy choice. One has the most restaurants with Michellin stars anywhere in the world the other has none. All the top British chefs have trained in France, a fact which has vastly improved this countries gastonomic image. Off to prepare my dinner, a stew of snakes and snails and puppy dogs tails. |

I just like food....... I don't particularly care where it comes from. I do agree that French Wine is miserable and I never buy the stuff. I'll stick with my Antipodean wines, even Eastern European wine is nicer than French these days.:)

I think food can be crap anywhere it depends whose cooked it and whether you've chosen the correct dish off the menu, I would agree about the French wine but I had a great bottle of French Rose the other night 'Chateau de Sours', I know that doesn't sound great but it was lovely!

I have to say, I don't agree with the negative comments about French wine. If there is a couple of things they produce well it is their wines and brandies. That's about it though, oh well, some of their cheeses are pretty good also. What a shame such a crap load of people have such a lovely looking country.

I was in a French restaurant once (in France) and someone on the next table ordered Steak Tartar. The look on the waiters face was quite amusing when the guy sent it back because it wasn't cooked!

I’ve never been a lover of the franks. Bunch of horse eating, sparrow stuffing arrogant foreigners, who seem to have the odd problem of being unable to sustain a good fight when it comes to fighting wars and the like. That said, I am humbled by those who fought in the resistance during the last war, and they have come up with the odd good looking bird and a couple of decent cars! Other than that, their just a bunch of moaning mutual back spankers….Chirac? Chirac who...sound like a nasty dose to me....
