Well this has made my day.

The radio news said that a crowd had gathered to celebrate in front of the Hotel De Ville in Paris. When they heard the news they broke up in silence and drifted away... and then it began to rain!

Oh HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ! Funniest damn thing I have heard in ages.

The crowd in Paris looked like they were going to cry when it was announced that London had won the bid.
I think it is great news......and although the Games are in London I am sure tourism everywhere in the UK will benefit to some degree.

I have to admit, I didn't think we would get it...so 'Well done' to the bid team....and a big fat raspberry to the frenchies.

A great effort and agreat achievment if we make half as good a job of hosting the olympics as we did the commonwealth in Manchester then the world will have to stand up and eat humble pie not just the froggies. Well done to all concerned.

Brilliant achievement. Now we need to get some funding into the pot for our lads and lasses so they get the best possible training. Seven years? That’s a lot of work with a lot of new blood. Time to show the world what we can do. Again.

apperantley (missed spelt)the lotto has set a fund aside to aid the rest of the 36% that needs doing ,london has all the main stadiums in place? wembley will be ready long before this happens and will be the main stadium?is that why they took the time on it?

London won't be the only place to benefit from the Olympics. Manchester is earmarked to be hosting some of the football events for the 2012 games. Hopefully the country as a whole should benefit from the games.....
