Re: Mez, Dont Moan,
I haven't slept well all week due to the heat, but I'm not complaining. I love the summer but I think as a nation we are pretty unprepared for very hot weather, and snow for that matter.:D I have promised myself that next year I will be more prepared and at least will have bothered to buy an electric fan.

Re: Mez, Dont Moan,
We've got several fans. :) I don't mind heat but it's the sticky heavy humidity stuff I don't like.

Re: Mez, Dont Moan,
o ive got the fan, its just me i think .

Re: Mez, Dont Moan,
I struggle to sleep summer and winter so it's no different for me apart from the fact that Zack is waking up very early at the moment. So instead of me lying awake from about 5.30 day dreaming and planning the day, I have to get up and read Thomas the Tank engine to a three year old.

Re: Mez, Dont Moan,
Just to be contrary, l have slept much better this last week.;)
Awake by 5 a.m? I'm usually still trying to get to sleep by then, causing mayhem, l mean joy and laughter wherever l go.:) |
Re: Mez, Dont Moan,

Re: Mez, Dont Moan,
I too am up early in the mornings due to the heat but by the time I've had my tea I want to sleep which is impossible when you have a 7 year old who stays awake till almost midnight

Re: Mez, Dont Moan,
No problems for me sleeping, i took the duvet off the bed and now just use a sheet to cover me.

Re: Mez, Dont Moan,
All the fan has seemed to do recently is circulate warm muggy air.
I have taken to keeping the window AND the blind closed during the heat of the day and just opening the window for a while once the sun has moved off the front of the house. I have also stripped the bed down to just sheets...........I've put a wheatie bag in the freezer for a couple of hours, and take it to bed like a hot water bottle...except it is cold. The other thing you can do is put a pair of damp socks on........other than that...sleep outside. |
Re: Mez, Dont Moan,

Re: Mez, Dont Moan,
Folks you want to try and sleep through the day!!!!! When on nights and the sun hits front of house the temp goes up by about 15c and boy do i know about that!!! Ceiling fan on full 24/7 at moment. But i do find a warm shower helps to get rid of the old sticky sweat and I feel clean and fresh for when I hit the bed ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh bliss on days this weekend just have to hope not to busy!!!!!

Re: Mez, Dont Moan,
I was on nights all through the hot summer of 1976........I used to go into work and passing the pubs everyone was sat outside with their cold beer...it was agony......and as for sleeping........I think I slept outside most of the time......with earplugs in.
