Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Me and Tinks have been to the cinema in Accrington alot these past weeks.
We thought it would be a good Idea to be film critics for you lot. So if you want to know what a film is like, then ask us. If we have watched it we will give you a good Idea if it is V.Good, Good or down right zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz........... The films we have watched so far are................ 1) War of the worlds 2) Fantastic Four 3) Willy wonka and the chocolate factory 5) Stealth Next week we will be having another night in at the cinema...... So I will up date the post, as we are not sure what we are watching as yet. |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
What a great idea.:)
If it takes off, it was all my idea.:) If it goes straight to video, it wasn't me that suggested you do it at all.;) |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Stealth was very good tonight lot's of action and explosions for the boys and eye candy in the form of Josh Lucas for the girls .............. I now know what christmas present i want :D ....... an Eddie the Stealth :D

Did you wear your last one out:confused:  :p |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Great idea, (and thanks for reminding me that "stealth" is out!) Can we all join in with comments about recent films? not that I've seen any lately:rolleyes:
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
:) Yep Busman and I strongly recommend Stealth, beautiful scenery in the film when they are flying over mountain ranges.
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
My 7year old and I went to see Willy Wonka which we thoroughly enjoyed. But he said it wasn't a film he would want to see again, unlike Herbie fully loaded which he is nagging at me to take him again he loved it.
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Thanks Debbie, We might actually go and see that aswell sometime!!!
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
I think Charlie and The Chocolate Factory was very tongue in cheek and a lot darker than the origial because of Tim Burton being the director. It was never going to be better than the origial because that is a classic but it was funny :)
Slinky you might be on your own for Herbie I hate that stupid damn car! I hated it when Dad used to make us sit through the films .............. but I could change my mind if Herbie gets a make-over and ends up an Audi TT :D The one I'm looking forward to is Dukes of Hazard due out next week I think |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
i have to say charlie and the chocolate factory was fantastic, everybody thinks its from the original film but its not it actually comes from the book, the original songs that roald dahl wrote and jonny depp plays a fantastic part, i would really say its not a film for kids, its more adult humour than anything and it is a fairly dark film in which tim burton has once again shown his true colors. all his films are dark and his new one the corpse bride looks fab!
i work at blockbuster and go the cinema every week to see the big releases, also jman scoop whos another member on here works with me too and he also works at the cinema, he is studying to become a film director(so form an orderly queue behind me to star in one) hehe maybe one day we should all meet up and have a day out at the cinemas? shoud be good fun? im just waiting for the dukes of hazard, king kong , harry potter and the chronicles of narnia! :D |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Could these films be given 1-10 from those who see them to show how they are rated as weel as good and bad points? :)
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
good idea....
i personally give, charlie and the choc factory 10/10 stealth 6/10 (i cant make up my mind if i liked it or not!!) fantastic four 9/10 take in mind these ar my opinions some others may have different tastes in films. :D |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
BB the scores also mean that somebody could have an average rating to go by as everything is not to the same taste of everybody else :) :) :) :D :D
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics

Me too the same ones and Sisterhood Of The Travelling Pants and that Nannie something one  I can't remember what it's called! Ok my scores :D War Of The Worlds ....... 8/10 (I was disappointed with the ending) Fantastic Four ............. 9/10 (BRILLIANT FILM!) Charlie And The Chocolate Factory ......... 6/10 (average film but gave it 6 becauseof Jonny Depp being eye candy) Stealth 8/10 (Josh Lucas what more can I say :D ) |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
War of the worlds 8/10 (loved it, great story line, great action)
Fantastic four 9/10 (very funny in parts and nice eye candy) Willy woka 7/10 (just for that thing johnny depp does with his tongue) Stealth 6/10 (eye candy, but not my kind of film) |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Willy Wonka 7/10 thought it was great
Herbie fully loaded 10/10 but then we love cars in our house I am waiting for Wallace and Grommit the movie, Cars the one about the nanny & Harry Potter. Slightly off thread....Does anyone else feel a bit peeved that all showings are full price during school holidays? When in term time it's £3.50 each before 12 mid day. |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Nanny McFee is the other one I want to watch. Looks like it is going to be on a similar level to Mary Popins but it looks quite good.
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Nanny McFee that's it ..... gggrrrr could I think what it was called :o
She reminds me of someone ...... can't think who yet but it will come to me :D |

Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Lmao Tinks yep!!!!! We would get a slap round the head and told we are a PIR OF LITTLE ............., then she would ground us!!!!!!
MUM = Nanny McFee..................eat ya heart out kid!! |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Okies my views,
Charlie and the chocolate factory Very dark kinda disturbing, but ok, the umpa lumpa songs were terrible i want the old ones back, quite good effects with the elevator, quite weird in that it was soo modern yet still very old fashioned, a unique style of film but i wont be watching it again ever if i can help it. 6/10 Stealth Not a bad film but drags a bit, i must say i got lost a bit through lack of concentration but in the end it was all ok, good effects and scenery, storyline ok but not very in depth. I loved the refueling scene, wont be buying when it comes out tho. 7/10 Fantastic 4 Bit of an anti climax, watchable but i got very bored with the "thing" fire guy was good tho but that was about it, good effects, not much of a storyline, one of the less good comic book adaptations i think, filled up and hour an a half in a day tho i suppose. wont be watching a sequal if they dare to make one. 5/10 War of the worlds I didnt think id like this but i was suprised to find it quite good, brilliant storyline and effects, no hidden romance going on, just a guy trying to keep his kids safe, might read the origional book now, good watch. may buy. 8/10 Batman Begins Brilliant, very dark, good storyline, better than any other batman film, not aimed at a kiddy audience so good for adults. again good effects, cool batmobile, very in depth storyline, will be buying. 9/10 Lee |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Ok we went to watch The Island tonight. now I had heard that it was suppose to be C**P, so I went with all expectation that the film would be C***p!!!! but to my suprise i actually quite enjoyed it. I know tinks didn't but that is what makes a film, some people do like, some don't.
I have to say, I did enjoy it but, i wouldn't rush out to buy it to watch again. So I will give it a 6/10.............................oh and by the way (the ice blast machine is now working again)...................only tinks will know what I am going on about. |

Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
It was pooh :( to put it bluntly
crap storyline that got quite silly, wooden acting, McGregor had a very dodgey American accent, stick to Star Wars Mr Wan Kanobi ...... chases and smash ups weren't to bad though ;) only 2/10 I'm afraid ......... no eye candy either except for Sean Bean |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Well guy's.........just got back from watching Dukes Of hazard...................
Very, Very funny film. Recommend it highly:D . For laugh out loud factor I would give this film 8/10................................. ' put another shrimp on the barbie' is all i'm going to say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rofl38: :rofl38: . Another funny thing ( not even part of the film), we were sat there minding our own business, when this young lad walked past us, he must have been coming back from the loo's. We heard him running up the steps, then all of a sudden there was a THUMP!!!!........looked round and he was just picking himself up of the floor................LAUGH, I nearly wetting my knickers laughing. Then tinks started laughing, and all of a sudden, the cinema went quiet, and tinks did a very loud ' PIG SNORT'.....................ow my eyes watered, I nearly wee'd. Oh well it's been a good night and a GREAT laugh.............. All in all the film gets a 9/10............................... |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Well i will go and see that then sounds like a good one.
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
you know I didn't fancy the look of that film but may now reconsider. Does it come with free man falling down stairs for every showing??? lol
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics

hey read my blog and you will have wished you were with me this afternoon too and then you would have had double the laughs. And probably another change of underwear would have been needed!!!! :p
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
I would also recommend Dukes of Hazard I too give it a 9/10 cracking film plenty of good stunts and great laughs
But I was glad there was only one other person watching the film. At the first sight of Daisy Duke my 7 year old rose from his seat shouting whooooahhh much to my embarassment. For the Mr Angrys I can assure you he made not another sound other than to laugh when he was supposed to. |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
good job slinks wasn't in your viewing then Debbie otherwise it she wouldn't have been able to watch the film, between flying man and overexcited child sh'd have been crying with laughter.:D

I slid down my seat so he couldn't see me wetting myself with laughter and tears streaming down my face but I had a mouthful of cockporn ........... I WAS CHOKING lmfao!!!! 8/10 to Slink and her flying flip flop :rofl38: try to get it in the front seats next week though :D !!! Going now i need to 'put another shrimp on the barbie!' :rofl38: |

10/10 to Accy Vue's own lil stuntman 'THUMP' ........ can I just explain the piggy snort ... I slid down my seat so he couldn't see me wetting myself with laughter and tears streaming down my face but I had a mouthful of cockporn ........... I WAS CHOKING lmfao!!!!

Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
I went to watch The Longest Yard last night.
Another excellent film I really enjoyed. It was yet another remake of Burt Reynolds Mean Machine, which incidentally Reynolds is in the film, amongst quite a few other familiar faces like Stone Cold and Goldberg from WWE, Nelly the R'n'B singer and others, it became a bit like 'spot the famous face'. Adam Sandler brought plenty of humour to the screen and though the plot was predictable having seen the original and the English football version that starred Vinnie Jones, I still enjoyed it :) 6/10 this time me thinks :D |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
It better be good or else im watching it sunday. If not trouble you 2 be in he he he:D

I was dragged kicking and screaming all the way to Bury last night to watch Green Street. I was very dubious about the film to say the least .... not another footy hooligan film! I REALLY enjoyed it!! I was engrossed all the way through!! It's not for the faint hearted, it's quite violent and not your namby pamby Hollywood fights either, proper good old English scrapping, which had me winceing quite loudly, much to mtheads amusement :o Elijah Wood AKA Frodo played a convinceing West Ham supporter and I give the film 8/10 because the only thing missing was Gollum/Smeagol, I would have liked to have seen him playing a part as a Millwall hooligan :D |

Bewitched i would give a 6 / 10.It slow moving and not a big improvement of the series from the 70's.One i watched on Sky and found hilarious was ' The sex lives of the Potato Men 'Johnny Vegas was a scream.Herbie i would give a 9/ 10 as it reminded me of my youth and some happy times i had.
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Just got back from watching The 40 year old virgin....................
Omg how funny is this film. Tears were streaming down my face at most of it. Slow starting, thought it wasn't going to be as funny as i had been told, but wasn't disappointed after a while as it was hilarious. This film i will give a 9/10. Typical male stuff.........things they actually would do and say. Would highly recommend anyone to go and watch it.:D |
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Yeah another brilliant one I laughed that hard it made my eyes leak and I nearly wee'd :D !!
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
I went to the cinema this lunch time hoping to watch Pride and Prejudice, when i went to buy the ticket i was told that they had not received the the film reel yet. So that was a wasted journey, but to my delight i was given a free ticket so i can see it at another date for nothing.
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
I must try that myself sometime:D
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
I so the film today and can say it is excellent, great scenery and a great cast of actors. Well worth going to see. 10/10
|
Re: Tinks&Slinks Film Critics
Well I took the kids to watch the WILD on Sunday. It isn't the best film I have watched. Some tongue in cheek moments, the kind that go right over the kids heads and straight to the parents.
It had its V. funny moments. The kids loved it though, so anyone with kids I recommend this film. Bloody expensive day out. I will be taking them to watch OVER THE HEDGE when it is released. The snippets I have seen look very funny, so I will post my opinion on that later in the month. |
