Bluffing.

Just listening to the radio, someone was opening their A-lelel results live on air, and it got me thinking.

No one has ever asked to see any of my qualifications, ever, never.

They are listed on my c.v., thats all, and people have just trusted me.

O-levels, A-levels and my degree are all listed, but people have never asked for proof that they actually exist. I could quite easily have made them up and saved my self a lot of time.

Also on my c.v. it says under other skills conversational French, which sadly I didn't need when I made some shirts and boxer shorts for Gerard Depardieu, as he spoke good English.

I did expand my duties on my c.v. when I spent a summer working at German Vogue, were I was basically a dogsbody but upped my title to assistant stylist.:(

Has anybody ever told a little white lie about what they can or can't do or their qualifications, to get a job?

Re: Bluffing.

i dont think anyone ever checks qualifications unless the job is to do with working with children or large amounts of money

luckily my qualifications are lets say so as not to brag pretty damn good for an average joe who didnt go to college

if need be though i could quite easily lie about my qualifications and be pretty sure no one would check

mind you my enthusiasm and charm usualy gets me any job i go for so who needs qualifictaions lol

seriously though after a few years employers look more into experience than qualifications unless like i said working with large amounts of money or children etc

never had any qualifications, never lied about having them, never stopped me getting a job,my son on the other hand has a masters degree, cant get a job,and is constantly told he is overqualified, as he has resorted to applying for jobs that he is! there just may be a moral there somewhere?

Re: Bluffing.

I have always had to present evidence of my qualifications at all of my job interviews in the NHS. Even at the interview for my latest job, when I had already worked on the unit for 13 years and the interviewing managers knew me, I had to produce O Level certificates, Nursing certificates and Midwifery certificates and proof of registration with the NMC. I wouldn't dare lie at an interview. I am a really bad liar and would be found out immediately. I do sometimes fabricate the occasional hobby/interest in the personal intrests bit of application forms though....:D

You know me Granny, I'm not one for gossip, whisper in my ear, it'll go no further.;)

If you don't, we will have to hold your beloved Grandson Jaseyboy hostage in the chatroom until you tell all.

If that doesn't work Tinks will have to torture him.;)
