Exposed Bump.
We are led to believe that a woman who is pregnant shines like a beacon with good health and beauty - so why does the latest craze of exposing the bump right down to the pubic hair make me feel physically sick? Am I alone in thinking it is wrong to expose yourself in this way?
People have the right to choose what they wear certainly but I find it strangely offensive to have to view the stomach of an 8 month pregnant woman in the street that I do not know.http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/8665/mumsoon0cp.gif |
Re: Exposed Bump.
NO!!!!!! you are not alone in thinking this looks bad. But the funny thing is, the woman cannot see the stretch marks that lie under her bump, until she has the baby and loses the bump, then it becomes embarrassing, because people have been viewing these horrible stretch marks for month's and she was unaware of them til now.............

Re: Exposed Bump.
its good to see the bump thru nice clothes but nowadays its mostly teenagers that are preggers anyway they like to show it off with the tiniest top they can just manage to fit there boobs into and a small pair of jeans and walk around thinking its good! but if i ever get pregnant i would like a demi moore style(in her birthday clothes and mothering her bump)picture of me and my bump as i think that is lovely and a beautiful keepsake!

Re: Exposed Bump.
A nice sailor suit smock should be worn from just after conception until the child is at least six years old.
It was celebrities that started this craze like the Appletons and Madonna, thankfully I don't remember seeing their pubic hair though! |
Re: Exposed Bump.
I wonder if Brazil had anything to do with that:D

Re: Exposed Bump.
I think it looks hideous. I wore a garment that could have accommodated a whole tribe of bedouins and still felt that I looked awful......I think egg-laying would be a far superior way of continuing the human race.

Re: Exposed Bump.
I actually like to see a nice stretch mark free tanned bump on show (without piercing that is!) :)
In my opinion it looks nice on some and hideous on others. I think a little showing is fine but draw the line a seeing the top of babys exit route! I wore my belly out at home but put it away when I went out!! :D Rindy your post had me chuckling it reminded me of my sisters hideous maternity wear, one look like Princess Di with the sailor collars and the other look like a gypo in a Billy Smart marquee. :o Thank god i was fashionable at for a least one period of my life!!! ;) |
Re: Exposed Bump.
i see it all the time at work and i agree that on some it looks ok on others well yuk!!!

Re: Exposed Bump.
As with most fashions this is probably just a fad which will eventually disappear and then make a comeback in 20-30 years time. I think it looks horrendous on most people, very few women have the perfect ovoid, stretch mark free bump. A lot of pregnant women will develop stretch marks, spots, boils or hair on their abdomens at some point in a pregnancy. Why would anyone want to show that off.....

Re: Exposed Bump.
I certainly didn't bare my bump in public, dont think it looks good at all, I think it looks much better in proper maternity clothes that are cut to fit, I think the problem these days is that the girls try not to put any weight on and still fit into size 8 jeans, thats just wrong.
