we may be a bit previous with this ....... accrington carnival, has anyone any ideas for a float for accrington web in the next carnival, july 2007.............. thanks.

Seriously I do think it is a good way of raising the profile of the forum, as I said when I heard the idea first mooted by Ann on the bus to Willow's wedding.

I think the idea of computers is a bit naff, but we could do something alomg the lines of Accy Web being a satellite. A satellite linking all parts of the Borough, with further arms reaching out to the rest of the world.

Russian Cossack [Roy], someone in a Florida pool :( [Bazf], Pendy and Tealeaf as Pearly Queens, that sort of thing???

We should have someone up front representing Roy in Russia.
Then behind people representing other ex pats.
Right at the back we have Staggers and Mands with a few people sat down.

what are we promoting ? accy web yes, but you still have to hire the vehicle that you are on and do it up. we on accy web have given a lot of money to various causes on and for accy web,we have donated to various charities but dont shout about it, no tax relief or anything just the goodness of our hearts, thats the other side of us people you dont see!:cool: get involved with us and then you will see?:D

yes i like the round the world aspect too, because thats what happens. we reach our friends across the waves,good idea.........we could start with long arms for round the earth & shorter arms enfolding the boroughs of hyndburn. it would also have been great if our industry was alive , it would have been great to add the coalmines, weaving & the various jobs in that industry, plus bulloughs.........& all aspects of engineering, we have lost so much industry, what a shame. i think the circle "arms" of friends is the best so far.

I think representing our past and present induistries has been done many times before. What makes us unique is the fact that this forum is at the centre of our global village, as can be seen from Tealeaf's thread 'Where am I'.

Also visually it could be very entertaining.

As well as people on the float, we could have people attached to it by ribbon walking along at the side handing out our web address.
