I Thought The Council Was Responsible For Lampposts
That poor couple in Blackburn ... The streetlamp fell over and demolished their £5,000 car and the council are refusing to pay out according to their insurance company.
See tonights Telegraph ... Well now you know, next time you happen to hit one ;) ...they seemingly belong to nobody !! |

Re: I Thought The Council Was Responsible For Lampposts
basically this couple went away somewhere and came back and seen that a lamp post had fallen on top of their car
they've gone thru their insurance to claim the damages etc but the council has turned around sayin they're not liable as they took what means nesss to make sure it doesnt fall over now that it has they're sayin htey're free of their legal obligation as no evidenec that the lamp post was defective or that they lacked in their responsibility to ensure its upkeep if that makes sense |

So according to their logic then next time you hit a lamp post all you have to do is say that you took every precaution to ensure that you wouldn't hit it and you'll be OK.
