Dead or alive.
Which five people would you invite to your ideal dinner party? They could be dead or alive.
Mine would be- 1/ Oscar Wilde, well I relish competition. 2/Barbra Castle, because she was at the centre of an interesting time in politics, and wasn't afraid to speak her mind. 3/Alan Bennet, so Barbra would have someone else from Yorkshire to talk to. 4/Prince William, because I'm nosey, and it would be interesting to see what he was really like, plus I might be able to convert him to republicanism. 5/Jackie Kennedy, because she had substance as well as style. |

Re: Dead or alive.
Gosh limiting it to 5 is very difficult.
Could I have another dinner party later and invite some more? Richard III - because I'd like to know what he was really like as opposed to the image handed down by Shakespeare. William Shakespeare - so he can apologise to Richard III. Mohammed - in order to clarify who may or may not be misinterpreting what he said. Mother Theresa - to show us how to be serene. Alice Cooper - maybe he could bring the odd snake. :theband::balloon::wave8::balloon2::music8::s_gupj ump:Banane27: |

Re: Dead or alive.
1. Glenn Miller. So I could find out what really happened to him in 1944.
2. Henry VIII. So I could tell him what a rotten husband he was. 3. Groucho Marx. For wit, style and scintillating conversation 4. Queen Victoria. To see if she could, possibly, be amused. 5. Elvis. So I could drool into my soup. |
Re: Dead or alive.
Six years later...
 1. Oscar Wilde could still sup at my table. 2. Alan Bennett, same. He amuses me. 3. Gwyneth Dunwoody, another politican I admired, can have Barbara Castle's seat. 4. Steven Fry. Like Oscar, I'd like to battle my wits against him. 5. Debbie Harry. Interesting life. Plus I've had a crush on her since I was thirteen. :D |

Just got to know and meet quite a few people, through work and personally, when I lived in the smoke. She is absolutely lovely. I did an impression of her, at the end of the Railway Children, when she runs through the steam to her father. She laughed. I was thrilled. I was going to do my impersonation from Walkabout. But it was January, and too cold to take my clothes off. :D |
